So I just uploaded a photo for today. I added a description and saved the file. Then I noticed a typo and went back to fix it. Now my thumbnail has disappeared ...
I've actually also seen it never sort itself out, though. If it is something you really want to fix, you could try replacing the photo through that option on Picnik. You could also delete it and reupload to the same date, but with the Picnik option, you won't lose comments, faves, etc.
To be clear, I mean replace or reupload the same picture, not another shot. :)
