This is more for the people already following me since they have an idea of what I tend to do with my photography, but new people are more than welcome into this thread.....
Since challenges are a weekly thing, and don't always fall within the realm of possibility for me, I've decided I want to challenge myself, but I want the challenges to come from you all. I want to step out of my comfort zones and try new things. So here's the deal.....
I want you to tell me what you want to see from me. What do I have yet to post that you'd like to see me take on? What types of compositions are the ones you typically fave (I'd love to able to give everyone what they want). Your challenge can be vague and broad (like a color or mood), or it can be very specific (flower macro)... whatever it is, just say it.
In the month of March, I will use challenges from here for my shots. I can't promise I'll achieve them all, but I will do my best. What do you think?
I rarely fav portraits but I love "characterization" portraits. I challenge you to give us a wonderful characterization portrait of yourself which shows off your best features and shows you doing what you love most to do! How's that? Now it's not impossible, but it won't be easy.
@marlboromaam oh wow... when you issue a challenge, you throw down the gauntlets! LOL This will be WAY out of my comfort zone because I hate how I look in photos... but I will put a lot of thought into how I can pull it off and be happy with it.
i challenge you to take up smoking then taking pics of yourself smoking in different restaurants and other establishments where smoking is not permitted.
Great idea Jeff. Well you know I love b&w landscapes and I know you are getting Lightroom real soon so I'd love to see a dramatic b@w from you. Something processed very cleanly. Might I suggest a trial of Silver Efex Pro2 that you can use with Lightroom. Anyway, you know my style. Looking forward to what you come up with!
@jsw0109 Anything that would be typical Indiana. Can be color or B&W. I see less of that in your photos so just trying to come up with something. Plus I shoot mostly landscape.
@jonesp I like that challenge! If I can pull off a Paul Jones-esque b&w landscape, that will be an amazing feat! I'd love to get my skill up to your level :)
People, you need to photograph some people. A portrait or two, a self portrait or two, street photography of, you guessed it, people. And maybe some kid pictures. :o)
Ok Jeff,

You are so creative. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I am 100% with Jennifer! She took the words right outta my mouth. I challenge you to photograph total strangers -- that ultimate challenge of going out of that comfort zone and talking to strangers and photographing them!!! If you can't get quite to the stranger level (that is the ultimate level in my mind), then photograph people you know!!!!
p.s. Jeff, I really applaud you for taking on this challenge -- I am sure you will get lots of interesting suggestions, but I am sure you will also get lots of support along the way!
I really have no suggestions, but have often thought about posting such a challenge for myself as I often (like today) don't know what to take a photo of. I am now following you. Good Luck! @jsw0109
@debbim okay... the As Rural As It Gets is pretty typical Indiana.... stuff like that is plentiful all around me, and has been everywhere I've lived in this state.
