I think they should have a reply button for comments you make on people's photos that sends out an email to you, because often people answer you when you ask a question or make a comment about their photograph, and you never know unless you go back through their album and read all the comments.
But not something annoying like on facebook where you regret simply liking something, just an email when they reply to your comment.
Or not even an email!
Maybe just a post in your feed, like on deviant art were you get an onsite message in your inbox when someone replies to your posts, and you aren't flooded with emails.
I think the most beneficial thing would be to have "365project Mail". Sort of like on Flickr....where you can DIRECTLY message people if you have a specific question or something to say to JUST them.
I think that's a really good idea. I like the deviant art message setout too because it's not like facebook where you get entirely annoyed when you get notifications that are just people responding to each other. With deviant art you know that the messages are for you and it's actually exciting seeing them because they aren't emailed to you.
i think lauren's idea is good too although i think i'd prefer the reply button, only because i don't think i would feel the need to email anything that i wouldn't write on their photo anyhow. i'm sure there would be a lot of people who would use that though as there is quite a big community on here who do talk to each other frequently!

Project mail would be good for personal messages, yeah. But I agree with Eloise, that I don't say anything that can't be viewed by anyone.
And it is exciting to go on da and see replies... or llamas.
And since I don't have a mac, I can't leave a bazillion windows open, since pc's aren't as power efficient, and also my computer is in my bedroom, so it would be like trying to get to sleep next to a spaceship with all the lights and things that pc's are so partial too.
So bring on the reply button! Wheres the suggestion box...
What I've seen people do is post the reply on both their picture - and the latest picture of the person who asked the question. That way it's only electrons that are inconvenienced!
