We have a new baby at the World Bird Sanctuary! Everyone is already in love with this fluffy wonder. What better fun to have now than have a naming contest?
I'd love to see what the 365 community comes up with but if you are interested in entering the official contest, please visit the World Bird Sanctuary's facebook page for details. https://www.facebook.com/WorldBirdSanctuary. You may have to scroll to an earlier July post, but it's there.
When baby grows up, he/she/it will look like this: http://365project.org/msk1p2/but-theres-more/2012-06-23

@msk1p2 That's interesting, the park told me he was a Griffin vulture, now I'm confused! Yours are lovely, I think they are beautiful birds and it's a shame they have quite a negative reputation.
@scuffer They would know! I'll defer to them! Griffins and Hoodeds are similar so I was just thrown off by the coloring in your photo (which is awesome!). They are wildly misunderstood but wonderful birds. Biologically interesting, they are.
@msk1p2 That's good, the colour naturally is slightly different, I edited because it was a bit of a grey day and it needed something more. I hope your baby gets a cool name.
Aloysius (pronounced Alo-wish-us) Here is a photo of two in a tree that I captured in June. Ugly birds but fascinating. When being tagged in the wild they are tagged on their wings and not their feet! http://365project.org/lynnb/365/2012-06-28
