I have had trouble saving my pictures both today and yesterday. It just doesn't save them and keeps telling me that it is "focusing diffractor beam...". Thanks for that, monkey :(
I just had it act like it was saving my edited photo back to my 365 account (because I was editing after upload), and it didn't give me any delays or quirky excuses, but then when it returned me to 365, my changes weren't saved. So, I tried to do the edit again and the second time it worked.
I've always found picmonkey to be incredibly useless. It rarely works for me. I use ipiccy with some nice results, and it's very user friendly, has some nice features, and is free, like picmonkey.
Sometimes it's slow, and then crashes. Which is pretty annoying... It used to deleted my EXIF data, but it hasn't been doing that lately. I'll have to check out iPiccy!
I've had problems with picmonkey off and on and it gets frustrating. It was usually worse in Internet Explorer to I tried it in Opera and it seems to work much better there for me.
I agree about it being hit or miss. It is often painfully slow, and I seriously started noticing the problems shortly after they started hinting that they will offer premium features for a fee. I love a lot of things about it, but I do miss Picnik. I shall be trying ipiccy!
@olivetreeann I work with it outside 365, too. The ting is that it used too work perfectly fine but only started doing this a few days ago. Maybe because of what you suggested, @ellen. Might be something about fees.
@ellen FYI Ellen- Picnik has returned as Ribbet. It's exactly the same and right now all the processing features are free. They will be offering a free and premium package at some point- but it's all there for the taking right now.
Oh no, you guys! We hate to hear you're having trouble with PicMonkey! As a PicMonkey spokes-human, we know there were a few hiccups floating around, but we've laid out some changes recently. Check us out again & if you're still having troubles, please send us an email with details. We are very much in the business of smoothing out kinks...as much as Monkily possible! @ellen@traeumerlein@mittens@tbats22@happypat@abbydooby@socalgal@cromwell@swguevin@sassik
@jennpicmonkey Thank you for replying Jenn. I was using Internet Explorer and changed to Opera. I have no trouble in Opera. I haven't used pickmonkey in Internet Explorer for awhile so I don't know if I would still have problems there.
@grizzlysghost just saw your funny comment because I'm currently having this problem! Never had it before but the pic I'm trying to tweak is one taken by a professional photographer friend. Was wondering if he has a "lock" or something on it so NO ONE, not even a beloved ex-girlfren can do anything to it. Very frustrated! So if "monkey" isn't in your editing repertoire, who do you recommend? (Please excuse because I didn't take the time to read everyone else's comment!)
@thendrix58 I have never heard of being able to "lock" a photo. I imagine it could happen, but I would guess it's a problem with the editing program. I pretty much just use Lightroom 4 for all of my editing, and I am definitely NOT an expert! I have never run into the problem you've described though.
will check out ipiccy for when picmonkey is behaving poorly!
You can try a clone of picnik, works same as: ribbet
Hi Jenn,
I'm having trouble saving my edited photo in picmonkey today...i use it everyday generally without problems, but today it just won't save my photo!
it's taken me hours to edit so i really don't want to lose it - what can i do?!
Everytime i try to save it, it gets stuck on 'focussing difractor beam' and doesn't ever let me click 'save'.
i've compressed the layers and switched to the smaller file size but sitll no luck!
