After a great deal of thought, I have decided the time has come to say goodbye. I feel sad to be leaving but I can no longer commit to the posting and commenting that I think is right for this site. I am two thirds the way through my third year, so not a bad innings and it has been totally amazing!
When I heard of the idea of 365 it was just what I wanted but I found so much more here. Photographically, although i have only used my trust P&S I have come to look at the world In a totally new way, everything has the potential to be a photograph!! I have learned a little about processing too, good or bad as it may be, I find it quite fascinating.
As I said, there has been so much more to this community than photographs, although that is our common bond. I have made virtual friends across the world, many of whom I would love to meet. Some I have discovered are no more than a few miles away, some on the other side of the globe. I have cried at some people's postings and found so much in common with other folk's feelings and experiences. I have seen births, deaths and a few marriages too!!
A few personal messages to Andy @andycoleborn who was the first person i followed because he posted some photos of places I knew! Now you are one of the leading lights here Andy! :-) To Geertje @geertje who has more in common with me than anyone here I think, and to @blightygal, who inspired me so much with my flower shots! And thanks most of all to Ross @scrivna for creating such a wonderful place!

Awww Cherrill I've been thinking about you loads recently and wondering where you've been and whether you'd decided to stop (I confess I usually think about you when I see a strange plant or insect but in a good way!!). Why not do as @blightygal says so that you don't lose your accounts - that way we don't lose our favs of your work?! And if you're ever over Cambridge way I'd be honoured to buy you a coffee and/or something stronger - you're a 365 legend!
Aw sad to see oyu go Cherrill, I was thinking I've not seen much of you about - but then I've not been as active either...I'm just about to post my 365 for year 2 tonight! All the best to you and yours and maybe we'll see you about every now and again...thanks in return for all your laughs and giggles - been a pleasure getting to know you through your photos x

Dear Cherrill, such sad news! I will truly miss you here, your beautiful photo's and especially your comments where always so much appreciated! I feel like I'm losing a friend in some way... Although, your kind words above warm me.
I totally agree, it feels like we have so much more in common than just a love for photography. I was gone for two months, but I hoped to see you here again. Now you're leaving.
But I totally understand, it's so time-consuming and you somehow feel obligated to look and comment back, because you like the people here. And that can be a burden. This must be fun! So, I hope you keep up the love for gardening and all small things that are beautiful. No doubt about that. And I hope that we could one day meet in person, who knows. A big hug!

Congratulations Cherrill on all your 365 accomplishments. Although I've only seen your pictures here and not had you as a follower/followee, I've been so impressed (and encouraged because all I have is a p&s too) with your work. Best wishes to you on all your endeavors beyond 365!
Ahh Cherrill... Sorry to see you've decided to hang up your hat... There's fewer and fewer of us oldies on here now but thanks for being a part of my 3 years and the chat and laughs along the way... Funny, I drive past that little thatched cottage every other week and remember you commenting about knowing Hampshire and of course, Hill Head...

Cherrill many thanks for the support and warm comments you've done on my photos ....you always sympathised with me when I had a football rant ....and I've had many ....you even mentioned me when I took a few months off after year one (the Fabrice Muamba incident) .....I was wondering where you'd got too and I'm sad to see you leaving ...but hey we all 'move on when we are ready' , we all 'have new ventures / projects / ideas to explore'.....I will miss you.

I understand your reasons for leaving very well but you have contributed so much to this site, with your encouragement to others and your photographs. I particularly like your album of a year of an English Garden.
We will miss you, Cherill! Thank you for all you have shared. Your wonderful photos with a compact camera have inspired me to travel a little lighter and concentrate more on what I'm seeing, rather than what I'm carrying.

@Cherrill Checking in after some time on the road and away from the computer, I was sad to see you're leaving the circle, and was touched you thought to call me out as one of your friends here. I remember how I first followed your travels and after that, always enjoyed your pictures. Perhaps, like me, you'll find it impossible to stay away for long, if only to check in on your friends! You certainly gave it your best over a long period! My best to you into the future, and I hope you'll continue to find inspiration for your camera in the world around you!
@Weezilou Louise, how could I not include you as one of my fave 365 ers!! You were our virtual 'auntie' for a long time!!! You gave such sound advice and cared for so many people, remember Chris and his ceramic cats? We all loved your Lunenburg home and cried at the loss of Dill and smiled as you became a grandma! I remember when you posted the photo that is now your profile pic....so many memories for a virtual friend. This place is amazing and I've had such surprising replies to my saying cheerio! I guess I will pop by from time to time...who could leave it all behind?? Many thanks again Louise and best wishes to you and yours...Cherrill x
@fungirlslim Thank you Jen for your kind words....I know you are struggling with life at the moment and you are in my thoughts. Sometimes we wonder just how much more life can throw at us ( I have the t shirt for that!) but keep strong and close to those you love.....there are brighter days ahead.
