Date for the next London meet will be 28th June 2014. I do have some ideas but always happy to receive new input and as ever all are welcome. May I suggest that you save this post as a favourite then you will always be able to see what is posted if you get missed of the list. My tech man will help me with those who showed and interest for the last meet.
All I can say is let me know if you are interested and I will post a meeting place and time nearer the date.
@boxplayer Ooops, thanks and sorry you cant make this one. I think that may be in September and perhaps coincide with the Tall Ships at Greenwich. sorry @steampowered
ah such a shame...I'll be in Covent Garden at the Opera! If anything changes or you fit in another sneaky one before then, let me know! My new 5D wants to meet it's other 5D friends :o) @padlock
Oh my. Tempting. But as I've probably spent all my money in Rome in the beginning of June (2 weeks, yayyyy!), I may not be able to afford it. But keep up the regular meets and I'll try to make it before it's 2015. ;)
@sparkle Hey, does it have a name yet..... how is it? I just HAD to buy something new and have new extension tubes to play with over the weekend!! Let me know when you're in London with some spare time - I have a bunch of meetings coming up in London and might just might be able to tie in a bit of sneaky 365-ing!!
@nicolaeastwood LOL to the small girlie outburst and stamping of feet by @padlock and @steampowered - would be great to meet up if I'm around and about in London...with or without the boys, depending on their availability! Off to Wales to try out the new kit next week - look forward to the extension tubes shots from you!
An update for the next London Meet on 28th June 2014. Meeting time 10.30am. I hope that I have managed to reply to all who showed interest but since I have lost my IT buddy not sure if a mass copy will work. If any at the front of the list could respond that would help(stoat), if not that please copy all and sundry who may be interested. The meeting point will be Kings Cross Railway Station, outside a pub(there is a surprise) called the Plum and Spilt Milk. Very conveniently there is a number of seats in front of the pub in the station under cover which will help if the weather is unkind to us. The destination for this meet is Camden Lock/Market, via the Regents Canal. The stroll along the canal is just under a true mile(not a Padlock mile) and when I walked it with Mrs P at a gentle stroll it took about 25 minutes. There are always a number of photo opportunities along the canal, beer bottles and general debris in the canal to occupy us as we wander to the market. Why the market, well I enjoy it, the people watching is fantastic, the food is cheap and the market itself is under threat due to the high speed rail link so thought we should make the best of it whilst we can. Once at the market I thought we could wander and meet up at frequent intervals to discuss and share what we have seen. It is possible to get to Camden Market by tube but I understand you can only exit at Camden Town, if you travel back by tube you will have to walk to another tune station which may make it just as easy to walk back to Kings Cross, along the canal. I hope that you will be able to join me on the day rain or shine I will be there.
Possible date for the diary, unusually for me I have seen an opportunity for a meet in September if anyone is interested. The Tall Ships are coming to London and I thought we could have a meet at Greenwich to see these superb ships. Just a thought , wont put a date here as it may confuse people for our next meet.
As ever looking forward to seeing you all, remember all are welcome, any camera is welcome, the company is great, the banter is brilliant, lots of advice and a great day out.

Ooh sounds great & very handy for my arrival at Euston. Tall ships sound good too so if by any mishap I can't make June I can think of September. Thanks for all the organisation Padlock.
Yes it sounds good and I think I shall manage a 25 min walk. Also meeting at king's Cross is brilliant for me as it won't involve any extra walking with my dodgy foot. I am looking forward to it.
so sorry. yet again my wretched beloved family are calling on us for babysitting duties.
love them to bits . this time we are promoted to overnight and morning duties as they go to a wedding.
perhaps next time....
@padlock HI, thank you for keeping me tagged. Getting married in July so manic at the moment and will hav to miss this one. Please keep me tagged for the next one.
@padlock so sorry but I think I am going to have to miss the meet up on the 28th padlock......having lots of trouble & operation on gall bladder due early July. As I have to buy my rail ticket well ahead I feel I can't commit to definitely knowing I will feel up to the long journey. Never know if I feel ok & can get a cheap last minute ticket........ Good to know you are already thinking ahead to the tall ships otherwise would be gutted.....I so enjoyed the last one! Keep me in the loop please & will see what comes up. Thanks.
@happypat Hi Pat, That is such a shame and I am sorry you don''t think you can make it, but don't blame you. I think lets see how you feel, you can always let me know last minute. Will keep you in the loop.
@deeganp Hi Pea, all you have to do is be at the meeting point at 10.30 and of you go. So bring your camera and get ready to meet a great group of people. Plenty of photo chat and no bored looks as ISO, depth if field, focus and gear are happily chatted about for hours !!!!
@danitechuk.you are more than welcome just read the details above where we start from and come along if you wish. Hard to say how many people will be there but the day will have photo opportunities, plenty of camera chat, chance to meet fellow 365'ers and perhaps a glass of whatever your tipple is. This will be The fourth meet and all who come have a good time. Up to you I will be there at 10.30 rain or shine ready to go and the market is a fascinating place to visit if you haven't been.
@padlock. Am wondering is it less than 3 miles between Kings Cross and Victoria stations as I tend not to use public transport for short distances? Thanks.
@la_photographic Do you intend to walk it as it is quite a walk. On the Victoria line it is maybe 2 or 3 stops and not a clue about the bus route. I would say it is 3 miles.
@padlock I am not sure probably not - I will decide nearer the time. I will be in London from tomorrow evening and will see how easy it is to find my way round London.
Some places are close to each other and walkable, others you may need the tube. A good map and an Oyster card help. The Oyster cards is for use on buses, tubes and trains. You top it up with cash and touch on and out of the tubes for your journeys. Much quicker than waiting to buy a ticket . Enjoy
@la_photographic I second what Padlock says. An oyster card and a good map such as an A to Z guide will give you a good idea of what is walkable and what is not. Even if the distance is small, crowds can make it difficult to walk. Oxford Street yesterday was packed and walking along it was a bit of a trial. The Oyster card is very convenient. Touch in and touch out. There are lots of small shops where you can top it up. I have one and love it.
Just a reminder Saturday 10.30am, Plumb and Spilt Milk Kings Cross is the meeting point. Weather seems to be saying rain but who know's. Sorry if I have kept you on the list and you have said no, but it does get hard to keep track of who has said yes!! If you know anyone who would like to join us on the 4th Walkabout in London then post them the link. Look forward to seeing whoever and lets hope the weather is kind.
Hope you all have a great time, and thanks for organising it again Padlock. Unfortunately I wont be able to make yet another meet up. Slipped disc in my neck is the excuse, but hopefully next time..............
@jantan I think that is a fair excuse. Possibly 9th September could be the next one. The Tall Ships are at Greenwich so seemed a good opportunity. Hope you get things sorted soon and look after yourself.
Thanks Padlock. Looks like surgery is off the cards again now, so I might just make that on (tho, without looking at the calendar I think that I might be going to Whitby that weekend.....) we'll see.
@padlock@jan20@ianrob Padlock - just to let you know I am away and cannot make it but copying in Jan & Ian to fellow 365'ers in case they can. If you can include them both in the future as well. Thanks
I am a friend of Steve who has mentioned me in his comment, I am afraid I cannot make this one but could you make a note to include me in the next one thank you it sounds like fun.@jan20
@padlock Sorry - I really wanted to come but I have something on that I can't get out of. Next time. You will be able to charge ahead at full speed without me there ;)
@padlock. I will be tied up with entertaining some friends from Switzerland so this one is a no-no. Perhaps I might surprise everyone and turn up for the one in September!
Yes great work again Padlock and sorry I'm missing agin (husband in San Diego, kids doing end of term nonsense that needs organising) but I'd love to make Greenwich. And I've promised a Cambridge meet at some point!
@padlock Hi there, I should be there on Saturday as well at the 'Plumb and Spilt Milk' at 10.30… see you there (unless it looks like a total down pour - you know what the 5D mk 3's are like in rain… NOT WEATHER-SEALED!!!
@padlock Afraid I'm not going to make this one - real life well and truly taking over! Please keep me on the list as I'd like to try to make the Greenwich one. Have a great day and hope the rain keeps off!
@padlock I'm ok, just juggling too many balls today to manage a trip to London. I'll be with you in spirit and will look out for the shots. Have a wonderful time x
@padlock sadly could not get on line last night Padlock (27th) but managed to use my mobile phone today went to Camden Town as Did not know venue meet up was Kings Cross until now . But hope to be there for September Tall Ship one Gerry.
