Tips and tricks

April 12th, 2014
Hello everyone.
I made my account today and I'm very exited. I love taking photos and I almost photograph everything (sometimes so much that my parents say "enough", when I've taken 10 pictures of a smoothie. Anyway, my cameras are CANON EOS 60D and I also use my iPad 4 - if you have any tips and tricks about this camera or have editing programs ideas, please comment :)
And I'm also very curious about how I make followers?
Hope to receive feedback\comments.
Have a great weekend!

I upgraded to the Canon 60D. I use Photoshop Elements 10, which is ok, but I try to use very little PS. I purchased an after market book on the 60D, along with a few others which helps a lot. I analyze (well, not all) my pix's and ask myself 'what did I want to capture, how could I have made it better'. On those occasional 'accidental/great' pictures, 'how did I do that?' Also I find tips here on 365. How to make followers? Post pix, others will find you.

Welcome to 365 - you are in for one hell of a fun ride. There are heaps of threads for newbies but you could start here:
http://365project.org/discuss/general/20316/welcome-new-arrivals

it also has links to other threads.

The best way to get followers is to follow other people, comment on photos and even join in some of the great competitions - there are heaps to choose from. I am now following you and have a sudden craving for mango!!!

Just get involved, very much you get out what you put in. Would suggest you start by looking at all the people who have replied to your post. Hope that helps and enjoy.

Just have lots of fun. To get followers, try following people who are in a similar position to you (i.e. a few days old!) and then comment on their work. Most times a followed person will become a follower.

Welcome to 365!

Here's a link with lots of information and lots of other links with loads of other information:

I have a 60D also. My learning has come from:

1. Shooting every day and trying the different settings to see the effect they have on the same shot.

2. Looking at the pictures here and trying to see how they did it. I ask the person also. People are very willing to share their knowledge. The search box here also is really helpful to track down old threads with information.

3. Discovering that there's a tutorial out there for almost anything.

As far as followers, this is a social site. Follow a person, comment, and you will likely get comments back. Once again, welcome and enjoy!

Welcome, Marie. Just relax, enjoy, and take lots of pics. And join in the discussions. That's the way to get followers.

@steampowered Haha, Paul! I'm devastated to hear you're leaving! I've not been a follower (not a clue why not) but have always enjoyed your postings. Good luck with whatever the next step is!

Welcome! First I suggest you take part in WWYD107 - not because I am hosting it... (cough) Second, join in with the "get pushed" challenge. This challenge sets you up with a different person each week. They give you something to photograph and you give them something and you meet lots of other people that often follow you. Last, get involved. You did good by posting this. I never did and struggle to get followers. Consider yourself followed.

Welcome to 365! ;-)

I started on 365 to learn more and find inspiration. I'm staring on my 3rd year soon, so I'd say I found what I was looking for. I've learned a lot.

Follow people to get inspiration, look in on competitions and themes, and participate when you feel like it. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Have fun.

(That last part - about having fun - is the best advice you'll get… ;-p )
