Seeing as this is a photography site, you could always let your photos tell the story. I have looked at the two photos you have already posted and your words so far seem appropriate. Remember though, this is the internets and your words are for all the public to see.
Yeah, I am not allowed to post any inappropriate words or anything like that. Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure which to become, a writer or a photographer.... Maybe I can take pictures that tell stories and write the stories. : )
People do lots of things - from making up a story about a picture; writing how and why they took a picture; matching a quote or poem to the picture; technical camera settings used and writing about their day. You could do any of these things and they would all help your writing skills. It's great to pick up on photography at your age - I wish I had.
I enjoy writing a lot, and sometimes I'll write a "story" of sorts to match a shot, or take a shot to match some bizarre thought I've come up with while walking the dogs. I see no reason why the two can't work together and enhance each other really.
Blank? No. Hard to put my thoughts to paper yes. I have a learning problem that I mix up letters. The computer helps to let me know when I spelled something wrong. I love to tell stories and now I sometimes write them down. But it is still work to get it from my head to the paper. Like this little bit I just wrote here for you took me about a 1/2 hour. Now after a reread I think I should just wipe it out and not have said anything. Oh well not all things we enjoy doing are easy or we are the best at. Enjoy what you are doing.
Welcome to 365! I would echo all the above advice. I've learned a lot on this site just by observing what others do. However, it really all comes down to this: My project, my rules. (I've heard that a lot on 365.) Enjoy yourself and have fun! You'll learn as you go, sometimes without even realizing it!
I write a lot with my photos...life stories, thoughts, lessons. It's fun to tell stories along with the photo. It's also awesome to make photos that tell a story. Welcome and happy writing!
I started when I was 12 (I'm 13 now actually :D) and I can understand how you feel - I really wanted to become a writer or a photographer too, but for my pictures I mostly only wrote about the picture. I recently started adding lyrics to songs of my favourite bands if I feel the pictures fit to them :) Good luck with your project!
Know what you mean? No, I am a "blabbermouth" in my blurbs. I don't mean to be. I just start typing and out it comes. But I like reading it later, so I like it. You don't have to write, but you will like having some written record of what was going on when you look back later. It helps you connect with others, too.
@juliedduncan Thanks for the welcome! Okay, I'll watch other people more. @amandal I like writing little stories about photos, and stuff, too! @justaspark Thanks! I write about the pictures too, even if just to tell a little about the picture. @espyetta Yeah, it's fun sometimes to tell the stories of pictures. Especially when they are fun stories!
@padlock Okay, I'll try that. Thanks! @semjaja Ooh, it sounds fun! Good luck! @graemestevens I agree. I think they could work together. @wildernesswillie Oh no. I hope it wasn't too hard to write that little bit for me. Thank you.
There is a book called "I wanna take me a picture" This is about letting kids take pictures and then using that as a medium to help inspire writing. If you give a kid a random topic it might be tough for them to write, but give them a picture they took and they can tell the story of it or make something up inspired by it.
Imagination is my best friend in writing. Inspiration is my best friend in photography. It may be different for some people, but for me that is how it goes.
I actually started 365 as a writing project. I was thinking of using visual cues for reflection. Then I discovered I was a photographer! I'm known for long narratives and I award Hotdog points for taking the time to read them --haha. So I use the space for both purposes, although lately I'm barely keeping up. Have fun with it all and welcome!!
@myuniquephotography ... The best advice I was ever given was "Write what you know; it saves time scratching your head wondering what to write about". I took that advice and it has served me well, both in real printed publications and on the web, and I now have a writing album on 365 on which I am currently posting 1500 words a day, using a photograph for the title. Why not give it a try? Good luck!

Same thing works pretty well for adults.
