Shutter speed?

August 1st, 2014
I've been experimenting with my a330 Sony camera. I can't quite figure out how to adjust the time of how long it takes to take my pictures. Shutter speed, I think. I want to be able to slow my shutter speed, but I'm not sure how. It would be much help if someone would teach me. Any suggestions, or maybe explanations, would be much help to me.

Kate, the easiest way with your camera is:
1. Set the dial to "S".
2. Set the shutter speed you want using the control dial.
3. Take your photo!

Here's a link to the manual for your camera: https://docs.sony.com/release/DSLRA330.pdf

The steps I just described are on page 62. It has diagrams of where the different controls are on your camera, so that may help a bit as well.

@myuniquephotography @kannafoot Or if you want a selection of "equivalent" exposures with different shutter speeds and associated apertures, dial in "P," aim, and then you can scroll through (step through with the command dial) the selections the camera has worked out for you as it metered the scene, before you snap the shot.
