I just learned how to do the process of selective color, and I am in love!! Thought it would be cool to start a 30-Day challenge using selective color. Anyone game? I posted mine pic today - here it is:
So if you are up for this fun challenge, tag your pics "30-Days-SC" and let's see what creations we can reinvent!!
If anyone needs help, I'm willing to provide some but there are some great tutorials on line or if you know anything, please share!
It's really easy to do using picmonkey. Much easier a time than I had in Gimp. I just posted an SC shot yesterday. Sometimes it really gives an image that extra punch or pop of drama.
Since I'm so far behind with everything I don't know if I can do the whole month, but here's one from last week and I'll try to do a few more in the coming days...
@amandal I love it! I actually use http://pixlr.com/express/ - you can choose Adjustments, Splash, and then the Magic tab and adjust tolerance as needed. Works really well!
@3rdxoff I really really love this one - something about doors! That green pop makes the picture mysterious - like what is behind that door! Thank you for participating and don't forget to tag 30-Days-SC
@lilbrituk Try this: I actually use http://pixlr.com/express/ - you can choose Adjustments, Splash, and then the Magic tab and adjust tolerance as needed. Works really well!
See if you can do it. If not, I will try to walk you through it! Thanks for participating!
@frankhymus I understand . . . too much of anything is like that. That is why I said 30-days but really only as a way to see how it affects the overall impact of photos. Definitely not for everyone. :)
@nadaa Really fantastical! (LOL I know that is not a real word but then again this pic is off the chain!). Thank you for participating and I look forward to more. Don't forget to tag 30-Days-SC :)
I would love to try some, but whenever I try to outline the object to color I cannot stay inside/outside the appropriate lines!!! :-||| Will have to check out your link above.....Neat idea!
What a great idea, I'll be in this but perhaps not every day! Thanks for the reference to Pixlr.com - I haven't come across this before and it looks a good free processing application.
I'lll pop in too... I'm on holiday in France and in my last full month of year 1 so I'd like to concentrate in that but maybe if I see something that is worth SC'ing I'll tag it :)
@lbluejaye8@amandal Ladies how do you use selective colouring in Picmonkey. What feature/ menu did you use. I am new to editing, so Picmonkey is my first editing program. Thank you for your time.
Here's one that I've just posted for the b&w light and shadows theme and for this theme too. I love the chap with his bare feet and the tail hanging out of his bag.
If you tag it like that, we will be able to see all those dazzling pops of color!!
See if you can do it. If not, I will try to walk you through it! Thanks for participating!
Done in Photoshop Elements.
My Day #2 attempt!
Thanks Laurie for the tip on the free editing in pixtr, this is my first attempt and it was fun and easy. I'm sure I will try a few more.
Edited in Photoshop Elements
I just posted this for my self-imposed mythology week challenge. I think the selective coloring is not as good as it could be.
