I finished my first year in July 2014, and I've decided to do a small book documenting my first year. I used MyPublisher to make the book.
I included the number 365 in all my photo names, such as 365 Woodpecker. Not too original, but it did work for me as I could search for the number 365 and be reasonably sure I got them all. Then I decided I didn't want them all! I culled out some photos of those days when I didn't have a photo, so I took a picture of my dinner...or something equally forgettable.
I was able to order the photo files chronologically, and so that's how I put them into the book, without titles or explanation. A fairly small book of most of my pictures. You may take a look, if you like. It may inspire you to document your year, and do it just how YOU would like to see your photos.
that is what i have planned for my photos. However, I will use every photo....but some will be smaller and the ones i really like with get bigger size photo pages.
I may even do it in 3-4 different books.
I save all of my photos in 1 file folder labeled 365 ---and make sure my photos save in order (i name the files so that they go in sequential order)
@shaunasauna7 I've used them several times, and they do make a nice book. Their paper is nice, although I opt for the even heavier paper (extra $3.99) but well worth it. They had some other options I like, such as lay-flat pages, but it was pretty pricey. I skipped those, and then at the end they offered me a better page coating and the lay-flat pages for a greatly reduced price. Sometimes it pays to wait!
They always have some kind of promotion going on, and I think new customers can get a free 20-page book. (You can always have more pages at an extra cost. Shipping was a ridiculous $10.99, but that seems common.)
I had trouble uploading this book, and it turned out it was because I was using Chrome; switched to Internet Explorer and it uploaded quickly and easily.
Cool idea. It took me three years to make my book of the first year using blurb.
I wanted all 366 photos (leap year) and wanted my own simple design. Not many publishers offer 250 page or more so the choice was small.
It was pretty ezpensive and only ordered my book after a 30% discount offer. The pdf was already a year old by then.
I'm glad I did because the result is very good. I'm planning a new one with a different theme.

@mastermek Very nice looking book! I am not posting every day this 2nd year, and I think I will move towards one photo per page next time when I have a more manageable number of photos to work with. Thanks for your comments about your experience!
@kwind@shaunasauna7@bsheppard Thank you for your comments. I think it's fun to see what others have done with their photos, from the simplest to the most detailed and time-intensive projects, it is all inspiring to me.
Sue, it came out great! I've used this company and think they do a great job -- the extra $ for heavy paper and for lie-flat pages has been worth it. I admire you getting this done. I still haven't done my book from year 1 and how am more than halfway through year 2!
I finished two days ago ;) and will also order myself a book. I'm using the German site fotobuch.de. It's pretty nice because I've designed books with it before and shipping is okay too (I'm from Germany) :)
@allie912@homeschoolmom Thank you both for the congrats. Allison, I am certainly not a fantastic photographer, but I am better than I was a year ago. The combination of posting a photo a day that I would be somewhat proud of, and seeing all the wonderful photos posted by others, is great motivation to improve.
As far as the "nature photographer" comment...I was AMAZED when I went through my pictures that there were only three people pictures for the year, one or two dog pictures, and a jillion shots of birds, bugs, and flowers.
