ok folks - what are your secrets for eliminating dust in close up set-up shots... i've been using a swiffer cloth and it's just not cutting it... photoshop works wonders, but the healing brush gets real old real fast ;p
so - glass, mirrors, floors, tiny toys, chess pieces... what do you do to get rid of the dust?
:D I like the air duster spray cans, Always keep them around as they work wonders on the lenses and sensors too, aswell as my pc fans exc, when im taking shots on perspex (which infuriates me with how much dust it attracts) i give a quick burst and its gone x
put a little bit of dish soap just a little on warm water on the sink. wash the chess pieces then rinse and dry. the trick is to find that micro-fibre cloth to dry them. or you know that liquid used to clean eye glasses? that's good for keeping dust off!
Be careful with canned air. Some of it contains propelants which will kill your camera, especially if you get in inside the workings (like on the sensor). The anti-static cloths that you get for eye glasses are fabulous. They get rid of the dust and if you use them on your glasses you can actually see what you're photographing
@summerfield - forsooth! what is this "water and soap" of which you speak? ;p (i don't do "rational" past 8pm)
;p
if its clothes, get one of those lint rollers.. they're amazing
