Help... please! My photos won't Import

October 4th, 2014
I'm hoping someone out there knows a simply fix to my Aperture Importing problem. I went to the pumpkin patch today and took a whack of shots. I was able to view them on my camera on the car ride home. When I inserted my card into my card reader all the thumbnails popped up like normal except the first ones I took. Instead of showing the picture, it says "RAW". All my pictures were shot in RAW like I normally do. When I imported the pics, the "raw" ones have a black box that says "unsupported Image format". The really strange thing is when I put the card back into my camera I can no longer see the shots in question. It says "Cannot display this file". Any ideas???

oh nooooo! i haven't a clue and would be hesitant to suggest trying anything for fear of making things worse... maybe tag @abirkhill to see if he has any thoughts on what might have gone wrong?

No clue here either, Kim; so sorry to hear this. I would contact Apple support.

I wonder if your card is corrupt, I haven't had that happen so am not sure if that's a possibility. Have you tried a different card to see if it is only that one that you're having trouble with?

@bella_ss I'm wondering the same thing. I used a different card for my soccer shots from yesterday and everything imported fine.I think I'll just give up on fixing the problem one, reformat and then try experimenting with non important shots to see if it does it again.
