How many in 365 community?

October 9th, 2014
Does anyone know how many 365ers there are in this community just as a matter of interest?

There have been a little over 160,000 registered accounts (based on account IDs, which appear to be sequential), but obviously the vast majority of those are no longer actively using the site.

If you look at the 'Browse by Day' page, and go back a month or so (to include people who take photos regularly but upload in batches), there's usually around 1,300 to 1,800 photos uploaded for each day. Ace members can upload multiple photos a day, but lots of people are active but don't upload a photo every day (they do a weekly project, or like me are intermittent), so it will cancel out to a degree. We can probably estimate the number of active users (that is, users who are still regularly uploading work) at any given time as somewhere in the region of 1,000-1,500.

Since April 2013, there have been 1,449 members who have had a photo on the Popular Page.

@abirkill thanks Alexis strangely I was thinking about this the other day - mainly in connection to the Top 20

@annied top 20 of what?

@abirkill Thanks for providing this info!

@abirkill @annied I was just wondering if the TT would represent more members if it was determent by voting rather than total fav"s!! There are quite a few excellent photographers with outstanding shots and not that many followers who's photo's will never appear on the TT.....

Hi all,
I just found this place and just started my 365 project. It is interesting to know how many people are routinely uploading here. Some other statistics would be nice to see too. For folks that quit before finishing, I'd love to know what the average number of uploads is before they give up. According to the numbers above it looks like about 1 to 2% stick with it. I hope I can be in that minority.

I was wondering if a TT photo could be identified like it is for popular page and trending?

there was an interview with Ross a few years back and at that time, there were 70,000 registered and I think Ross said that only 3% would complete a full 365 project.

@neosec

Hello Chuck,

there are quite a few who start a project and don't manage much more than a month. My follower with the shortest stay managed three days! In contrast there are others who have been on here for several years and have posted several thousand images. Good luck with your project!

Can I ask if people delete their followers who are no longer active? This is a great thread that provides me with so many answers to unanswered questions. Thank you.

@macromover I've been there for more than 4 years and never delete a follower. many of them stop posting for a while and I'm always so happy when I see them back here. I think it's stupid to delete a follower, they don't bother you when they don't upload and I can't see one reason to stop following someone who stop being active.

@macromover Ross deletes some inactive acounts but it's not the same thing than stopping to follow an account.

@fishers
Well, I've made it three days... It's a good start! :-)
