Some wonderful shots there, but I disagree with the statement that "colour doesn't matter".
You don't need colour to take some great shots, it's true, but there are other pictures where colour matters a great deal, either because it enhances the shot or in some cases even may detract from it so, to me colour matters a great deal.
@gardencat Another way that color *can* matter even for a final B&W product is that in a conversion of a digital color image to B&W you can minutely manipulate the "greyscale" mix much more easily and effectively than shooting in B&W with single color filters. A classic example is to pull the blue content down (making dramatic skies and clouds for example) and pull the green and yellow high (lightening foliage and grass especially) to get an emulation of infrared shooting. And you can only do it if you have the base RGB color image you shot, and only if that image has strong color variations.
Thank you for sharing these Alexandra. I have always enjoyed looking at B&W images. Sometimes the lack of colour actually strengthens the photographers message.
@gardencat@frankhymus Well to be honest I just translated the original title from the link with these gorgeous shots! Both BW & colour have so much to offer :) Glad you liked the photos
