I was a bit torn this week between the eclipse and the barn owl, but I'll go with the eclipse since I won't see another from the UK for 11 years!
I was going to post my swan portrait because I was so amazed at the detail my compact camera picked up, but then I took this one today when I visited my mum in the nursing home:
This was probably mine although it was a filler and it didn't get one Fav. However, I just liked this because the man who was in the driving seat has such a cheerful face and he's always smiling. I have actually used this as my screensaver on my laptop to remind me of the lovely weather we had when he passed our house. To me it's a typical village country scene
Guess this one is my favorite, because I took this several years ago with an old digital point&shoot, and it was underexposed to boot--but found it looking thru old files, and found it was salvagable using Lightroom.
My furry granddaughter, Nelo, is holding still for once (albeit facing away from the camera) and the squirrel lets me get several shots before he scrams. Similar to another shot I posted in a previous month, but this time there is actually some wildlife at the feeder.
My dad making a squirrel friend at the Grand Canyon. He was so happy to be there, it's someplace he's wanted to go since he was a kid, and so happy to make a friend and share his water.
besides being my awesome, talented great-niece Emily whom I love very much (although she looks somewhat dark and maybe a little angry here) this was a departure for me. It was an exercise in prop usage, giving direction, working with tweens, posing and on and on!
This cute little girl was having a great time dancing her heart out in a kapa haka performance. She's only young but she knew all the dances, including one with poi.
I'm back after a long absence due to health reasons. It was hard to decide between a couple of bird photos (one a male Cardinal) and the Texas Longhorn. I decided on the Longhorn because I have admired this handsome fellow for several years.

Just because he is one of the most important people in my life.....
I love the colour in this one.

My favourite this week has to be from Friday's eclipse. It was an accidental gem and all the better for the surprises that I found in it.
Playing around with flowers and ice. I still need to work on the lighting, but I like this one.
I liked this one for the optical illusion. It seems there are more than 5 forks.
Simply because its a bit different :)
I love that the buds look like miniature rosebuds.
