How do I make a copy of my Month

April 1st, 2015
I have finished posting my pictures for the month of March. How can I save a copy of it to my computer so that I will have the whole month in one photo?

Thanks for your help on this. I'm sure it's simple.

@henrir Good question! I have been wondering the same thing. For my one year 365 anniversary I would like to make a book of my favorite photos and include my write-ups.

Hi! No, it wasn't simple for me - LOL. Several people had to assist me, but I finally learned how to do it on my computer. Here's what works for me. Once I open the month's view of all my photos, I hold down the control button and the print screen button on my keyboard. This copies the screen. Then I go to Picasa (that's my editing site - yours may be different - just open whichever one you use) and my copy is located at Picasa/screen prints. Then I use the crop tool and save it. There may be a much easier way, so hopefully someone else will jump in here, too, with some tips. Hope this helps!

That's what I do. Take a screen shot, use Picassa to crop it, save.

I also PrintScreen (screenshot) my monthly view, but I paste it into a Word document that I'm saving as a pdf so I can view it on my tablet. For more than simple editing if I want to use the pic elsewhere, I put the screenshot into Photoshop.

I use the Snipping Tool in windows which allows me to drag a box round what I want saved - i.e the month view. I then save to a folder I have on my desktop - "Jpegs saved". From here I can import into Lightroom or wherever you want it . Very quick and simple. I just can't remember how I got the snipping tool - maybe right click? I am sure someone will know. Not sure if this will help or not!!

Just did a search for Snipping Tool in the Control Panel and there it is.

Go to month view and click on Print Screen - Save on Paint. Go to your favorite editing site (I use ipiccy.com) to crop, etc. and Voila! I do this every month.

Can I recommend a free utility for screen grabbing? Only because I have used it myself for donkeys years and it sees almost daily use because it is so easy/flexible/clever http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/index.html

It can auto save to a directory of your choice and/or copy to clipboard and can snap whole desktop, window or menu or just drag out a rectangle to a portion of screen. rectangles can be constrained by pixel size too.

For those of you using a Mac the built in Grab app does the job very well

Sue
For those of you using windows 7 you should have a snipping tool in your start menu. just click on this with your month showing, then pull out a box around the picture of your month, and save it to wherever you want it.

@linnypinny @dsp2 @pamknowler @cimes1 @sioux @runestone
Wow, what great friends you are. I finally got it saved, through a process. I have a PrtScn on my keyboard, but I couldn't get it to do anything. Beth, I'm going to check out the screen grabbing utility.

Thank you all so much for your help. I knew I could count on you.

@sioux You're right, Sue. I found it. However, I had to put it in the search box and it popped up. It is now there in my start menu. Thanks.
