Sharing a General Consensus & Commiserating

August 6th, 2015
I just took a minute to look at my notifications and found wording on a group reply to comments that struck a chord with me...as it will with so many others, I'm sure!

" Sorry for lack of commenting, there seem not enough hours in the day. "

I so completely understand! May I speak as though I'm speaking for 98% of us? So many of us lead full lives (" Going _____ & Doing _____, etc!") Fill in the blanks! When I finally have a few minutes to look through umpteen bazillion photos and video clips from every sort of venue in every type of weather, I'm lucky to quickly select one to post in an effort to *try* to keep up, but all the while, feel a twinge of guilt (not *GUILTY* as this is supposed to be fun!) that I'll receive lovely comments and, try as I might to return some in kind, I know I'll overlook more than one person whose work I love and whose personality I enjoy. Often I feel I'm taking and not giving back.

If you feel much the same, say "Aye Aye!"

Let's all gather here on the Therapy Couch, and go home with an affirmation that first and foremost, we're true to our desire to post a photo-a-day. Everyone here can see within our photographs and caption, what's keeping us busy each day. A day will come when the kids are back in school, vacations are over, we get the sneezes and stay inside in front of the computer for a day or the rain comes down in torrents and the only photo is one taken from our front door.

THEN we might meet again to say "So sorry" and "I really missed seeing your photos"... "Have a nice holiday...I'm home for awhile now..." "Let it be my turn to enjoy photos and leave comments, and no, no need to comment back! YOU go and have a good time now!"

(Feel Better? I think I do... and yes, I think of 365 and my friends here every day.)

♥ Louise

"Aye Aye" - just not enough time to fit everything in.

I too feel the twinge of guilt when I don't get a chance to comment regularly because I so appreciate everyone who views, comments on and favs my photos - their ongoing support and feedback is really wonderful. I work in a school office so roll on the next holidays when I'll have time to comment regularly.
August 6th, 2015
@nickspicsnz Thanks, Nick! SInce I'm still at the computer, I'm delighted I can take the time to say * thanks * for weighing in! (I was more-than-a-little-sure I had some company out there!)
August 6th, 2015
Aye aye...
August 7th, 2015
aye aye
August 7th, 2015
@northy @grammyn Thank you! Didn't I make that simple to join in?!
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye! I love looking and commenting when I can. No guilt in not replying or using the fav button as I like. I have made some wonderful friends and I know each and every one of us has commitments--I rather someone focus in his or her project no matter what! And I love how you are so positive! ♡
August 7th, 2015
@darylo ♥ back to you, too! ...and I have to share... when I read this to Ken, he said he thought it was so wordy no one would read it...and instead of this I could have commented on 6 people's photos! You'll laugh... it was YOU who came right to mind when I told him I'm not the only one who has something I want to say! I've loved lingering over your wedding story and the reasons to join 365...so it tickles me to death to see you drop by! Hot dog!
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou you certainly did! Love you for it too!
August 7th, 2015
Aye!
August 7th, 2015
aye! aye!
it is a balancing act with many ups and downs - how lucky we are to have a community that understands, supports and appreciates all these things - it is why and how we can all keep going :)
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye!!! Life has completely taken over since the twins were born and I've begun traveling so often! Seems like when I'm home, I'm either playing catch up from being gone, or trying to get ahead in preparation for being gone. And when I'm there, it's all about taking care of two babies. Crazy! But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Nor would I dream of giving this community up. And in the midst of my crazy schedule, when I asked for help in the past few weeks for particular critique, there were several people who chimed right in and offered invaluable help - I'm SO grateful! I miss the more regular communication with everyone, but my heart is still with everything going on here!
August 7th, 2015
Would love to also say "aye aye" but no time to type it! ;o) Seriously, I do feel bad about not commenting much, but time really does fly! I find it hard enough to have the time to keep posting my photos!!
August 7th, 2015
agreed it is hard to keep up! I know who is looking in and I appreciate it. I look at everyone's every night but it is getting harder to comment especially this time of year. I appreciate everyone here for their commitment and help but most of all letting me peruse your work! thanks all!
August 7th, 2015
@jackies365 "Peruse"...what a perfect word! When we see many more "views" than "comments", we can take comfort that likewise-busy people have come by, "perusing"! Thanks for that, Jackie!

@kiwisnapper How perfect to find followers & followees have dropped by; nice to see you! Just keep posting the photos & you'll feel better for that alone!

@shesnapped Wow, Ashley, I AM really off the grid with you! Twins?! Where have I been...don't answer that! You have a well-deserved pass...and the kids won't even be going back to school in the fall! That's for coming by with an "aye aye"!

@annied Oh Annie, we've certainly formed some familial-type bonds through the few years we've all be together here! Having felt for awhile that I can't throw my arms any wider to encompass everything, and reading murmurings of much the same, I thought it was time to have a forum to "commiserate"...

@melston wow! You really ARE in over your head! ♥
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou a good idea and glad you did :)
August 7th, 2015
@shesnapped Meant to say "Thanks" for coming by...etc!
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye! I do love those of you who have long narratives. They are interesting. I am sorry I don't always get to read the wonderful stories. Have felt like I'm slacking lately!
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou Grandchildren! They live 8 hours away. I travel to see them every 3 - 4 weeks. As for fall, my own youngest will be a freshman in college ... UGH!!!
August 7th, 2015
aye-aye...and thanks for raising this as a public thread. I think the idea of enjoying the site, guilt free...posting and commenting when able, is an important one. Our friendships through photography are so wonderful -- I'm sure we would all cut each other slack but we impose the guilt on ourselves!
August 7th, 2015
@taffy Well said, Professor!
August 7th, 2015
AYE! AYE! i should be commenting on people's photos, instead i'm slacking around here. today i couldn't sneak at the office, getting harder, really. then come home and i am sooooo tired. with a headache. it's supposed to be happy week this week, but no, i'm not happy i'm so tired. september already!

i do browse through my feed and if i see someone's photo and haven't commented in a while, that's where i go. i've long ago stopped trying to catch up because unless i retire (which is still three years away) and have my mornings free, i just won't be able to. can i go to bed now, please?
August 7th, 2015
@shesnapped ...whoops! Well, you're having the time of your life then and what a joy! Congratulations! I'm sure you (and everyone else here) knows of that poem about "...put down the dust mop...blah blah.de da...babies won't keep!" Enjoy enjoy!
August 7th, 2015
@summerfield LOL...keep dreaming darlin'! When I said "Good-bye television!" and "Will you please just put them upstairs, Ken?" I thought I'd have at least 3-4 hours a day of more time! Can't believe how deluded I was! I don't sleep more...I still stay up late...and I am on the computer a lot but I still can't seem to catch up! For all of us who know this now, we needed a place to share, and on one or two evenings (as long as this thread stays alive), we can drop in, say hi, bye and Aye!

Bill @billfenske said it best... "I'm as busy as ever since I retired. I'm just having more fun now and only doing what I want to do!

That's possibly paraphrased and I'm not even sure I have his @ name correct! But everyone knows who he is!
August 7th, 2015
Aye, aye! I am having a hard enough time some days just to take a few photos, never mind commenting! I try to take a few minutes every day when I post my photo to look at what's been posted and comment and fav, but life just is so crazy most days!

I really need not to have to work anymore!
August 7th, 2015
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye! I know we're all in this boat together and trying to stay on top of the water. Sometimes there's only time to browse, appreciate and learn from the bounty of wonderful images. Sometimes there's time to stop and comment. Every comment represents a gift of time and is therefore the more precious.
August 7th, 2015
@dmcoile What a brilliant and insightful comment to share:

"Every comment represents a gift of time and is therefore the more precious.”

I never formulated the words, but that's exactly how I've felt...which is where the best quotes stem from! Truly, "Thank You"!!!
August 7th, 2015
@rangerxenos early on you were so kind to comment on my photos before I more steadily followed your photography. We all seem to ebb and flow in our lives, though people like you and Vikki @summerfield who have a full day's work to see to will discover there's no magical door that opens, allowing for more hours in the day, after retirement! The good news is that our lives are not boring! It's really our good fortune that we can pick up our cameras and examine the world everyday. And like our ancestors of long ago, it's our diary entry in this day and age, and fun to look back upon as the years go by! Please keep sharing your lovely photos with us Dawn! Beyond that, you've found this community to understand completely!
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou You're a sweetheart, Louise, sharing your honest thoughts in your usual cheery way. I confess to having felt such guilt over not being able to view and comment on a regular basis that I seriously considering quitting my 365 Project. A number of times! But I always remind myself that all of this is really suppose to be about the photography, the love of taking pictures, and learning from others how to improve and branch out with our hobby. Even if I did actually quit, I know I couldn't stay away; I'd miss seeing what others are up to and of course be completely lost without the major incentive to keep a camera close. I've come to realize that this wonderful group of people really do understand about the time crunch and its effect on communication.
August 7th, 2015
@lyndemc Bravo! Bravo! I began a solid 4.5 years ago, and if you went through those albums, I never did 365 photos in a year and I was absent for 6 months when I had to leave the "easy photographic beauty" of Nova Scotia and returned to a suburban Orange Cty neighbourhood (where I decidedly DO NOT live the dramatic life of an "Orange County Housewife"!) There were times when I was traveling and gathering beautiful photos but had zero time and/or no internet for posting! So, (being a wordy soul as I know you to be!) the point I'm getting at is that you will not want to leave and never return. We love you, your photography and your way with words and you love this community, too, I know! (What I told you back on one of your photos is true...but here i am, holding court with my like-minded peeps!) You know why you'll remain , so time for me to turn off the light and rest up for a new day/new photo(s)...it does get into one's blood! ♥
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou
A big Aye Aye from me, your post could not have come at a better time for me, so thanks for voicing your thoughts here.

That guilt you spoke of has been creeping in over the last few weeks and I've been thinking that I don't contribute enough and so on. But even though my phojo is low because of lack of time and inspiration, I know that I am not ready to leave this place.

This has to be one of the most supportive and fun places on the internet and I have to remind myself daily why I am here. I know that I would miss the wonderful people here, their fabulous images and photography styles, their fun/quirky/downright naughty senses of humour and the stories of their lives! I have to admit, that even when I haven't posted, I always look at my feed in the morning to see what is going on and there is always something to make me smile and make me feel better about the day ahead.

This thread itself is evidence of this wonderful bond between the people we follow and how this place works. So thanks Louise for taking time to bring this up and to let others share.
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye! So eloquently put Louise. Thanks for putting this out there. Hopefully my motivation for both taking photos and commenting on all the wonderful shots seen will soon return with a vengeance.
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye, so well said Louise. This is just how I feel too. Life is too busy for us to enjoy the thing we love, 365. There are not enough hours in a day or days in a weekend! One day, when I retire I hope to have more time, but I find that people that have done so seem even busier! can't win! So I try my best and also feel the guilt for not giving back as much as I get from all you wonderful people. I'd love to thank everyone individually but that is just a dream. I'd never go to bed to fit you all in! I am very grateful for the comments and faves that I receive for my shots.
Thanks Louise for putting this thread on.
August 7th, 2015
A definite Aye Aye from me! Thanks for posting this Louise it has come at a time when I have been worrying about being an active member here on 365, but it is here on 365 that I have found my passion for photography and I am not sure I would have found that without this community and I can't imagine not posting here!
August 7th, 2015
Aye Aye. I working and getting my bachelors degree at the same time. So I'm crazy busy and don't always have the time or energy to be around, post and comment. But I do love this site! It makes me happy to see all those beautiful pictures, read all the lovely stories and get great comments and empathy on my shots, especially when I'm not happy with shot ;) This site is so positive and it puts a smile on my face every time I get a comment or fav. So I keep coming back, even when I'm really behind (like now, still catching up on photos from June ;) And now in the summer I have some more time since I have a break from school, but I notice other people are more busy. But that is how it goes. We are here because we like it, not because it needs to be done. That is something I need to remember more myself. It's all about having fun and learning!!
August 7th, 2015
Oh a definite Aye! Aye! As ever Louise you have gathered us altogether and voiced our thoughts. You really are and always have been our Auntie 365! :-) I have struggled lately to post every day, or post something different and have the time to comment on all my friends here. It seems so rude somehow. Really we are here to post our photographs and share our moments but this site has become so much more in the last few years. Give it up?? Never! and I've really enjoyed reading all the comments above and realising we all share the common cause!! :-)
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye!
Aye aye aye aye aye....why has no one yet invented a way to freeze time so we can browse, comment, shoot, edit, and post as long as we desire without using up any of the 24 hours, 365 days allotted us?
I am so glad I found 365 and this supportive community, as well as inspiration to keep carrying my litle camera around and learning how to use it.
I also so appreciate, and look forward to seeing comments left on my posts, but understand that everyone else also has a busy life outside the confines of 365. Thanks for putting that into words and sharing it!
August 7th, 2015
Auntie 365! What a fabulous title for you. I join the list of people saying aye aye! I've been composing my apologies in my mind, realizing that I've not been commenting, but trying to stay committed to posting regularly while enjoying projects started, etc. So glad you posted this.
August 7th, 2015
Aye Aye!!! Very well put Louise!! 365 should be fun and guilt free. Life just gets in the way sometimes and sometimes I check in on one of my favorites who I follow and find I have missed a whole week of their shots and then feel so guilty!! In fact we all feel the same and must be kind to ourselves when we are unable to comment as we would really like to. Thanks for posting this.
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye....must go kids need lunch making. Says it all really.....but I love 365.
August 7th, 2015
@dibzgreasley @salza @shepherdmanswife @ukandie1 @nicoleterheide @Cherrill @mcsiegle @mcsiegle @francoise @pamknowler

Though I have a word to share with each of you, I want to thank you for finding a moment to voice your thoughts, free yourself of guilt and let everyone know you're going to hang in here with all your like-minded and like-busy friends! And thank you for a bit of validation! When I first read my note to Ken, he said he thought it was too wordy and no one would read it... I told him they ALL know I'm wordy & I felt we needed a forum... So, with all those here in attendance, he said this morning that obviously I was correct...but when he was chuckling & I asked why, he said, (I know you already know what's coming!) "I find it funny that all of you with so little time on your hands have time to write a note on a thread saying how little time you have..." Hurumph...some things he'll never understand! What a terrific place this has been to tack up our messages and let friends know that our hearts are in the right place...
And so, (as every t-shirt I see has convoluted this message & I'll add mine!)... "Carry on Your Camera" Keep clicking!
August 7th, 2015
@dibzgreasley I've thought of YOU so often...how I loved the Toy thread and enjoyed last taking part all those months ago when we were in Hawaii. Now I haven't even had time to see if there's a toy thread, and if there was, WHEN could I fit it in?! I look at the little monkey (whose "name I can't even recall though I brought her to L'burg) and think of how she might view her new digs... ...maybe one day... ...I have until December here...
August 7th, 2015
@salza I'm so familiarly acquainted with so many of you now, I even recognize you immediately by your "@" name! As one who began here in 2010 and have seen so many of my favourite photographers leave, I'd hate to see favourites like you fall away. Ken always points out that I hate change...and he's right! We'll all meet up when time allows! Thanks for coming by!
August 7th, 2015
Aye Aye, I am so so far behind 😢
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou Aye, aye. I'm one of those who only has time for favs most of the time but will try to do better.
August 7th, 2015
aye,aye from me too. I have been very encouraged reading all the comments above. The one thing that has held me back from following more wonderful photographers is the fear that I would not be able to keep up with my commenting and thanks. The first thing I do in the morning is to look at all the pics that have sprung up during the night. Thanks Louise for making us all feel a lot better. Consequently I am now one of your followers :)
August 7th, 2015
@cruiser Wow...thanks so much! And seeing as how "you understand", I'll return the favor! You said something that I also feel and share... not following more people because I know days will pass as I miss the photos as they come up on the feed and I can hardly comment on all I do see! So let's just thank one another for the compliment of a follow and walk away to the next task/pleasure at hand with a smile on our faces!
August 7th, 2015
I have no problem in posting photos - always have too many! But I don't post loads as I cannot then keep up with the comments. So I'll just say one 'Aye'. Would be interesting to know on, average, how many photos people comment on per day?!!
August 7th, 2015
@quietpurplehaze haha! I agree re: the curiosity factor...but that would take time to count them all, wouldn't it?! @scrivna is this in that algorithm?
August 7th, 2015
@kathyboyles No need to "...try to do better"...you make it around the community and already see you as an artistic contributing member!
August 7th, 2015
@kjarn ♥ + "E" for effort! Have a terrific weekend and keep taking those photos!
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye! I've been feeling a tad guilty since we haven't had wifi on vacation, how silly of me~ :)
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou @northy @grammyn @shesnapped @annied @danette @lyndemc @taffy @summerfield @rangerxenos @dibzgreasley @salza @shepherdmanswife @ukandie1 @francoise @pamknowler @newbank

Aye, aye, aye! I still haven't caught up with my Road Trip photos from May and June.
I'm taking an accelerated Intro to Photoshop course. It's only three hours per week on Monday nights for five weeks, but we usually have three chapters to read through and work in each week. I also signed up for the Advanced online course that will start in October. The local technical college does not offer an Intermediate, so; I'm hoping I'll learn enough before the advanced class starts. The book needed has already been shipped.

Thanks so much for starting this Louise, and thank you Vikki for tagging me.
August 7th, 2015
August 7th, 2015
@bill_fe Speaking for myself, now I wish I had more time to fit in classes like that! If I could write the word *sigh* the way I'd like it would be a 3-line exhale!
August 7th, 2015
Aye aye Louise!
Thanks for posting this thread.............Summer is a very busy time of year for me and I have felt bad that I'm behind in my commenting! Our nice warm weather is very short so I'm not on my computer as much as I am in the winter! I'm out exploring, canoeing, boating, hiking, swimming, on holidays, etc etc!! I usually have time to post a photo daily, comment on a few people and that's it! I really love this community of like minded photographers and so appreciate the time everyone takes to comment on on my photos. It has been a year and half since I started and I have learned so much. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
@bill_fe
August 7th, 2015
@radiogirl Given the beauty of your neighbourhood, it's as it should be! (I'm out exploring, canoeing, boating, hiking, swimming, on holidays, etc etc!! ) Though I was never this active even before damaging body parts (!) being out in the sunshine, surrounded by beauty, is akin to showing gratitude apart from sending out comments! This sums up my days as well: I usually have time to post a photo daily, comment on a few people and that's it! I'm glad this has become a site where we can let our friends know what we're up to, we haven't forgotten anyone, and we'll be back when time allows! So nice to see you here, Kathy!
August 7th, 2015
@bill_fe thanks for tagging me!

And aye aye!!!!!!

While I would absolutely love to post a photo that I've taken every single day, I have so many things on my plate that that is completely impossible. On my first 365 project, I stressed over having to put a picture on here everyday. Once getting into my second year, I hoped that I could be better at it, but life got worse. Lol so now, I post when I can, I don't think about the date, and I enjoy it way more. I'd love to see everyone's comments and faves, & I wish I had the time to go through and comment on every photo that I think is so incredibly awesome! The best I can do is hit fav for now. Those who've gotten comments from me will see that it's not a very common happening. But I can assure you that if I fav your photo, I love it! On the days where I have time to browse through everyone's pictures, I definitely take the time to comment. We are all individual humans, all with thousands of things going on. It is not simply that easy to take a picture everyday, especially if you want to take a great picture everyday. So I just go by my own rules, enjoy the experience, enjoy the awesome 365 friends, and don't sweat the small stuff. Lol
Whew. Now I don't have time to comment on some photos! Lol have a great day everybody!
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou Aye Aye
@bill_fe hah! I started to respond to this thread last night but it was so late and I was so tired....I should have finished my fourth year a few months ago...but have been so sporadic in my efforts here on 365 to post, let alone comment! I miss it, and the camaraderie. And @bill_fe I haven't even learned how to use Photoshop or LR...my dream is to take a class in that and even basic photography...when time permits!
I'm on instagram, it allows me to use my phone and upload almost in the moment. It took me a while to figure out that people upload DSLR photos to instagram, lol! There are MILLIONS of great photos on instagram from every corner of the globe. One feature I love on instagram is that no one really expects a lot of comments on their photo, a "like" is enough.
August 7th, 2015
aye aye!

there are days when I feel I have nothing to contribute and days when you can't get me off the site. It's great to know that 365 is always here

thanks for tagging me Bill! @bill_fe
August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou - Aye Aye!
@bill_fe
Lately, I am probably the biggest offender of this and it does bother me! When I get busy, but I happened to have the chance to grab a shot or two during the day, it's time to go to bed and I haven't posted comments on other's photos like I should, I hesitate to post another photo when I can only squeeze a few comments on the pages of those who have commented on mine. Honestly, I am coming to the point where I am considering closing my account. I don't think it is fair of me to receive comments and favs from others and not reciprocate in kind.
August 7th, 2015
@skipt07 No no Skip! The whole point of this was to provide a gathering place to speak up about our frustrations, find we're in good company, and, **realizing we'll be let off the hook** stay the course and enjoy posting our photographs! For myself, I post "as I can", leave a few comments, and someday, as I have ALL the photos in tidy files, I can go back and fill in the blanks that will be my memory album of a good time well spent! It's always been a pleasure to come across you from time to time as I do! Your little profile photo is one I'd miss if you left ; )
August 7th, 2015
@bill_fe thank you for tagging me! and thank you @Weezilou for initiating this wonderful conversation. Being fairly new, I have struggled with how to manage such amazing feedback... visiting and commenting on others' incredible photos and trying to upload my own. Clearly this is such a supportive community, and seeing all the comments here, takes the pressure (self-imposed!) off trying to juggle it all, knowing we all "get" each other. wonderful.
August 7th, 2015
@lisamccloskey Your photos, your captions and your insights are always so touching, joyful and telling, you're certainly high on the list of my favorite newcomers! And to think you juggle it all with all the little guys! I'm glad you found your community here on board with you! As for me, if I DON'T hear from someone for awhile, I go looking for them to leave a comment. The last photo might have been posted two years ago, but such a note always puts us back in touch. You'll see! And you're an instrumental part of this community now; you'd be greatly missed if you didn't show up to play along!
August 7th, 2015
@moonshinegoober As an Old'Timer still sitting in the bleachers, do you have anything to add?

August 7th, 2015
@Weezilou - I know that was what your intent Louise and you are sweet for taking the pressure off, so-to-speak. It's a sticky wickets when you feel guilty for not commenting more and at the same time you feel guilty for spending too much time.
August 7th, 2015
@skipt07 It's only self-imposed, Skip. The whole idea (if you're still enjoying your photography or photo-journaling) is to stay the course if you just have time for that. Speaking for myself, I'd be at a loss without my camera, and the significance of each day is often clearer when I finally sit to look through how I spent the day. Of course post processing and all the fun manipulation can suck hours, but the operative word was "Fun"...
August 8th, 2015
Aye Aye for sure! And Louise, you are giving us all the gift of your time with this thread!
August 8th, 2015
@nanalisarocks thank you, Bill for bringing Me into this thread? And Thank you, Louise, for bringing this forward! Aye, aye! I love the site. When I joined, almost a year ago, I resigned from my job. A job I loved, but was in a difficult position. Three days later,I found 365. As a photo enthusiast, I know there is a huge difference in how I take photos today vs when I started. And that is due to all the great photographers on this site. I have learned so much from many of the great members on this site. I had time when unemployed, I love to see all of your photos and I regret when I miss your photos now that I am employed again. Sometimes just not enough time in the day and challenge of taking photos every day. And I so and appreciate reading your comments. But I do view some pretty awesome photos of great photographers, but the comments are so few. And these photos are well suited for the top twenty. It's as if you don't make comments, then you become forgotten. Not sure how we can fix this. But glad this was brought forward.
August 8th, 2015
@skipt07 Yes. NONONONONO. You cannot leave. It's like Hotel California. LOL Seriously though---no one holds that against you!!!! :) We're all friends here!! :)

Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye.....
OK, this is starting to sound more like a lament than an agreement with what you stated....and, I just spent the last 20 minutes reading not only your thread, but all the comments above! Yes, there is obviously not enough time to do all the things that we like to do, and if we spent it all commenting on all the wonderful photos on this site we would have nothing to post!! It seems to be a constant struggle and a race between running out to get the photo of the day, dashing back to upload and process it, getting on the computer to view and comment and FAV, and it has really turned into a Sisyphean Task.....the minute you get to the top the ball rolls down, and you have to start all over again!! So, there's the frustration we are all feeling, but then again, we are all still here, and that's because we love this place, the camaraderie, the learning, the growing, the challenge, the inspiration, and the people we have met and bonded with over the years. And, then, there is the validation of a Friday morning like today when you look at the Top Twenty photos, and you are filled with awe and admiration, and even familiarity and joy at having FAVed them, and it makes it all worth it.
So, let's all enjoy this journey, and when it is time to move on let's do it with a light heart knowing that we have left a mark, and that we have provided and derived inspiration. This site and the people here will always have a special place in my heart!

@bill_fe thanks for tagging!

Aye Aye! And I don't even have a good reason for falling behind on commenting.. Just, like all of you seem to understand, life!

This site sure has been an inspiration and hopefully will be again, when I have the time and interest for photography again. I don't post daily anymore, the last weeks of my year were so blah... Maybe moving to a new town gives me back my mojo!

Aye, Aye......

@bill_fe Thanks for tagging and thinking about me Bill. :)

Just like Susan @susanalena I was told about this community shortly after I lost a job I loved and was looking for something to fill my time. I have been so inspired by the people here at 365 and love viewing their projects, but now with summer here and the kids being out of school, there is never enough time in the day. I still start my day by view all the images and hoping I'll have some free time later in the day to come back and comment, but it does not always happen.

Some times, I think maybe I am following too many people and can't comment on each one's project regularly. But I enjoying viewing their projects and don't want to stop seeing their images.

I could go on, but I've got to get my photo of the day uploaded. :)
I'm very happy to be part of this amazing group of people from all around the globe!

Aye Aye I am one of the lucky ones I have retired and have more time than most of you. However there are other demands on my time and I don't find it easy to comment on all the pictures I should every day. i try to keep up but I don't always succeed. I'm fairly new to photography i started the day before I joined 365 just over a year ago. Everything I know is down to the wonderful people on here. Your patience with my total lack of knowledge and my ageing brain is amazing. @skipt07 Stay with us Skip. I and so many others really enjoy what you do and understand that there are only 24 hrs in a day. I love your work and have learnt so much from looking at your pictures.

Aye Aye!
August 8th, 2015
@overalvandaan Did you recognize that it was your group response that led me to create this thread? You may take your bow!
August 8th, 2015
@Weezilou yes, and this thread is so heartwarming, recognisable. Thanks. You've got a big heart Louise!

Aye Aye
That's me too, trying to finish the garden redesign before holding the celebration bbq and also getting organised for our trip to Africa. Oh yes, and have to fit in a full time job round this too!

But could I leave 365, hell no, love it to much!!
August 9th, 2015
aye aye!!!
I'm missed posting too many days because I knew I didn't have the time to view all my friends' postings.
So sad that the day only has 24 hours!
August 9th, 2015
I'm late to the party - but aye aye totally agree - right now I struggle to post images - and I am so pleased when people comment - but am so dejected I don't have the time to respond - and I do know people who left because they just didn't have the time to devote........I love this community - and so now post and try to comment as I can - and try to concentrate more on posting and my growth - and hoping people know I look when I can and comment when I can.......

Aye aye!
August 9th, 2015
Definitely Aye! Aye! I've been on an emotional roller coaster just recently and completely drained of energy but this site always cheers. If I feel guilty it is that I take more than I give at the moment but it is my first choice if I ever have a spare moment. This community is simply THE BEST!
August 9th, 2015
Aye aye. What a great response from everyone. I did a photo a day or at least posted every day for my first year and was so pleased with that achievement. I started my fifth year time wise this June but my posting is very hit and miss, just not enough hours in the day. However love the community and learning opportunities here and advice so hanging in there and commenting as much as possible.
August 9th, 2015
So interesting to see that people are still responding -- you really struck a chord, it's clear! Hopefully it will lead everyone to feel much less guilty and make it easier for folks to stay with the site and do what they can. I've been giving this a lot of thought and appreciate that you got this going.
August 9th, 2015
@Weezilou Aye aye! As a newcomer to 365, I'm so happy to read what you wrote about commenting. I was having such fun viewing and commenting on pictures; but then we went on a vacation, and I fell behind. I'm back now (well, actually typing this on a plane heading back), and I'm trying to catch up. I'm doing so with much less guilt now thanks to your words. I truly enjoy viewing all of the beautiful, inspiring photos on 365 and getting to know so many friendly folks. A great big THANK YOU to everyone on 365 for the warm welcome, kind comments, favs, and follows! I look forward to viewing more of your wonderful work and commenting as often as I possibly can. You've all helped me learn so much already. I am so grateful!
August 10th, 2015
@bill_fe Yes, me, too. ;)

@jyokota @susanalena @cindyloo @panthora @tande @novab @thistle @pixiemac @kwiksilver @deak68 @888rachel @cruiser @susie1205 @jennywren @janetb @kt8ird Thank you all for coming by to drop off your guilt at the door, let your friends/followers know what's been keeping you busy and away, and airing your feelings and most importantly, *sharing* your feelings about how much we all love this community. Not a shirker amongst the lot! BTW, I just got a notice the @365toygroup is doing a week of relaxation... As busy as we are, this may be good advice...
and @taffy I'm glad this gave a place for all to give voice to what was a shared dilemma. Perhaps we no longer need to write a paragraph with each picture of *why* we don't have time to comment. Just sum it up with "Aye Aye" and you'll have given the recognized password!

whoa! i can't believe no one ever thought of bringing in a cake or some cookies with this long discussion? ay caramba! here, have some! :-D

August 10th, 2015

August 10th, 2015
Sue
Aye-Aye and wow, I just found this and so agree going to try really hard to catch up, but it might be a while. @summerfield, thanks for the cookies.
August 10th, 2015
@summerfield I should have known we could count on you to bring "The Sweets", Miss Sweetness! I was sure I had a cuppa to go with that, but the first I came to will probably just bring everyone to their knees, knowing the speedbump that lies ahead! Sorry to do this, but I do think the message I wrote in the caption is worthy of keeping in mind... Just add a "little toy friend" and we can post a "relaxation photo" to that thread! (And I think this thread is beginning to deteriorate! But it was way-too-fun! ♥♥♥

and to you who seem to have come by as we're setting out the goodies, thanks for joining the party! @pixiemac @cruiser @sioux
August 10th, 2015
@Weezilou - merry Christmas to you, too! :-D
August 10th, 2015
@summerfield OMG, That was a total guffaw!!! (I was laughing out loud!!!) And I think this site is now "officially closed" ... unless anyone wants to drop by for the after hours cast party! I can upload the Cosmopolitan at cocktail time! We certainly had a good run!
August 10th, 2015

August 10th, 2015
@Weezilou - you've been here since 2010??? well, dagnabits! how come we didn't connect until 2013 i think? anyway, is that brie or camembert? now i must go downstairs to the food court and get some cookies, cakes, cheese and i could about make use of a tall glass of campari tonic.
August 10th, 2015
to all my friends on 365 - thank you for your wonderful visits and comments; know that i appreciate each and everyone of them. i know i am amiss with my commenting duties, however, i have a really good reason for that: i have started drinking. :-D
August 10th, 2015
@summerfield
It's on the small side...must be Cambanzola... I forgot to have lunch, so I just slathered some on tasty crackers awhile ago. And how lovely that Ken walked in and I can give my bartender my evening's libation request..This is so not about time constraints anymore, is it? Fun, none the less...

And "365 Community" if you've just walked into the group, feel free to say "Aye aye" about having no time to look at everyone's pictures and comment... We met this morning for cookies and coffee and we're now having a cocktail party. Won't you join us? Feel free to vent...
August 10th, 2015
@Weezilou - :-) there's more where it came from

and i'm about to go home! don't worry, i'm not driving! :-)
August 10th, 2015
@summerfield You do everything with class and such good taste!
August 13th, 2015
Aye aye!! Fabulous thread and thank you so much for tagging me @bill_fe . I am away and have little Internet or time for 365 so this was a very fitting post for me. I have enjoyed the wine and cake and will be back to posting once I get home. Cheers everyone
August 13th, 2015
@skipt07 I've been reading through comments and I also say don't close your account. Just have a break, I have been missing for months at a time but always come back. I would miss the friendship, the learning and the inspiration too much to leave.
August 13th, 2015
@summerfield Started drinking, eh? :-D
August 19th, 2015
@Weezilou
Stepping off the bench... I've never been great at keeping up with this site (even though I have met some inspiring photographers and made a handful of genuine friends). I stopped feeling guilty though and started looking at this site as an old best friend who has moved to a far away place. No matter how far and few our conversations may be, I still feel the same deep connection. An understanding that we can still meet up, chat over awesome photos and our lives and enjoy our heartfelt moments. I think of this site and my friends that I made here quite a bit more often than I'll ever visit the site and I'm ok with that. So I'm just checking in with you now to give you a huge internet bear hug and make sure you know I always look forward to our next moments in this happy place of photos, friends, and memories. xoxo
August 19th, 2015
@moonshinegoober I knew you'd find me sooner or later! And yep...I feel the same! I must share that we've had one couple via 365 here in July, the son & husband of another 365 member arriving this week, and two more players coming here for a visit in late September! I feel a bit like the Lunenburg Ambassador! You just let me know when to turn down the sheets for you two! I'll leave the light on... ♥
