Hi 365ers who know anything about Indianapolis. I'm going to be there overnight in the main area of hotels (e.g., Hyatt, Hilton, etc), but am not likely to have much time that I can control. I may have about an hour late afternoon or another hour early morning. From a photographer's perspective (as opposed to more typical tourist one), is there an area/building that you'd recommend that would not require driving somewhere else which would just chew up the little time I have.
In the middle of town, there is monument circle. It's a giant memorial in the middle of a traffic circle, called the Soldier and Sailors Memorial. It's fabulous. Up the street from that is Indiana War Museum. It's fabulous as well. There is a lot to see and do there. Also downtown, there are some fabulous buildings and a canal that's pretty cool. Wish I was going with you. I do miss Indy.
My husband said the whole area around those two memorials is very cool. He said the library is there and it's a very beautiful. It's a big glass modern building.
Thanks for the advice. We're going to have some time in the morning so I'm hoping the rain stops. It really is pretty here!
