Slowly getting back to my project ...

October 3rd, 2015
Hi all,

I've just uploaded (link not working, not sure why) probably the hardest story to date ... why? Because I think Barbie is already dead or very close. I've only known her for about three years as a very occasional acquaintance. And because of my illness it's taken this long to post it ... and I don't know if she will ever read it. :'(

There's been no updates on her FB since Sept 8. Whilst I was overseas she posted on July 24 that the cancer had managed to find it's way to her brain but she was going rough radiation and "fine drugs".

I photographed a mutual acquaintance a few weeks back and she'd not heard anything . I've sent two messages but no response. It's all quiet.

I was to photograph her father before I went overseas but unfortunately I was sick and we had to postpone but I was ill upon my return (just getting over the illnesses now - hence not being here) and he died before I was able to do the one thing she asked of me.

If you have time go read ... it's long but read with dignity and then give those near to your heart you a hug and tell them that you love them. Phone them or write a letter.

Don't do it for me, do it because it matters.

Have a funky Saturday where ever you are in the world!

I'll go back and fill in the blanks as my strength returns and capture the final 30+ portraits!

@sidecar Put the link down here in the comments rather than in the header, it seems to work better.

Still not uploaded more until this weekend (Easter) when I hope to upload a backlog of images and stories.

But to those who had read or followed I received news just now that Barbie - this face of the project for the last many months died yesterday - nearly a year after her given 'end of date' because of believing in an alternative treatment.

Because of this she felt the love of new life in her grandchild and was able to be with the family in the new event.

The world will be different now without her effervescence - I pray the baton has been passed successfully.

RIP Barbie and my condolences to Frank and the family.
