Feedback for Ross

March 1st, 2016
ross@365project.org I just noticed a curated page for Ace members and you asked for feedback, but there was nowhere to leave the feedback, so I'm leaving it here and hope you will see it. It looks nice, but what exactly is a curated page? Also, going forward, where would we leave a comment for you? Thanks.

@skstein Sandy I think his tag is @Scrivna

I was wondering the same thing actually. What are the criteria for curation and who does the curating? How does it differ to the PP and TP? I've noticed that there are some photos that stay there for a long time and many from the same group of people.
I agree with Sandy about the feedback.

@dibzgreasley thanks. I copied the tag I found on the how to contact him page, but either way, where are you supposed to post the comment or your feedback with the tag? He asks for feedback, but then there is no comment box to put it in.

Hi @skstein that "tag" is just my email address, so usually people email me, but this is fine.
Thanks for your comments, the curated page is a page of photos that are especially chosen by me and a few other anonymous people. Because it's made by real people rather than an algorithm like the other pages - it will update less frequently.

@Scrivna Hi Ross have just seen the curated page, not been about much lately! I really like t he selection of shots. A good mix and sometimes less is more. The suggestions page can be very busy. The who to follow is a good idea too.

Hi Ross, i quite like the 'who to follow page', especially for new 365ers, to give them a starting point, but preferred the 'Suggestions' page which I believe is recent shots of friends/follower, and previously updated each time 'Suggestions' was pressed, giving a good amount of impartial images to quickly look and see their shots at a glance, this is only now available by first going via 'Curated', and have to come back out and repeat the route to see more. I believe what I am saying is I prefer 'Suggestions'

@Scrivna Hi Ross I like the who to follow page but it seems stuck on the same people. I rarely see anyone new to check out. And at any given time the same people are being featured there. Also, at times the Popular, Tranding and Curated pages have the same images. Maybe it could be programmed so that if a photo hits the trending page and then goes "popular" it drops off the trending page. If the pages are all tied together like that, then there would definitely be a better mix of photos being highlighted. just my two cents! Thanks for all the work you do on this site!!

at first i really liked the curated page because it seemed to have a greater variety of images and included some off-beat ones i don't think i might otherwise have seen... lately though, it seems overrun with birds and cute animals - nothing against those photos - they are lovely - just less of the variety that was there initially...

i definitely prefer the curated concept over suggestions... i never found that concept to work very well in terms of providing me with suggestions for things i'd want to see that i hadn't already seen...

Good to see a curated page as well as those made by the algorithms.

@Scrivna I haven't visited the Curated Page as often as I should but without a "reminder" like the one we get for the Trending or Popular pages, I might not remember to check it out on a regular basis. I like the idea of it though, and now I feel honored having made it once!

Hmm. I never got any reminders for the trending or popular pages, and only discovered the curated one by chance. I had never noticed that tab before--or the Suggestions tab either.

Wow, I've been so busy lately, that I didn't even realize there was a curated page. Just checked it out. Fabulous idea.

While I have been to the curated page a lot, each time I enjoy what I find there. The photos and photographers are inspiring and seem to be in line with my taste. I have found some new projects to follow. Thanks for your hard work in keeping us connected.
