Large Scale Magnets of Photos

March 29th, 2016
Hi all! I'm renovating my kitchen and I have a white refrigerator that will not be replaced, although everything else in the kitchen will be a stainless theme (and dark browns/greys on cabs, etc.). I've been wracking my brain around how to make the fridge not stick out--then it came to me--why not use a photo in black and white and make it a long magnet (think the size of business magnets on trucks and vans--just vertical). Has anyone on here ever done something like this? I figure it can really make the fridge more like a canvas where the white becomes the "mat."

Right now I'm looking at businesses that do custom magnets for cars/vans as they seem to come closest in producing the sizes I'm seeking.

Anyone have a business they recommend that makes magnetic photos? My fridge is a side by side fridge, so I'm thinking of using the full right side for this project (leaving the left for the stuff we post up for notes, photos).

We had a big quilt show last fall, and I got a car magnet from Vista Prints. They have the best prices, and their products are good. I drove around with it on my car door for about a month before the show. I'm not sure how big their sizes are, but the quality of the print was very good. What a fun idea!

I think there is also a stainless looking sticky paper made for that purpose.

@featherstone Thanks Sue! I have used them for business cards and photo calendars. They look like they only carry rounded corners, but I was looking on my phone--will look again!
