We are having a photo walk with California Ron @stray_shooter on Saturday 21 May (provided he makes it back from Nth Qld) for anyone in SE Qld who wishes to join us. You can meet up with us at Guyatt Park, St Lucia at 9:15am, at South Bank at 9:30, at Riverside at 9:45am or Sydney St., New Farm at 10:15am.
There will be a lot of walking so wear good walking shoes, a hat, bring water, sunscreen and your Go Card if you have one.
Could you pls advise on this post if you are a likely starter.
I am in Australia, at the Gold Coast, but unfortunately the 21st is my sister's birthday and we have plans for a birthday lunch at the club. Next time perhaps.
@aliha@maree_sanderson Hi Maree and Alison.
In case you haven't worked it out yet, we are going to be doing the new Riverside Walk from New Farm to South Bank. I haven't walked it yet so am not sure how far it is - about 4 ks would be my guess.
We are going to drive to Guyatt Park St Lucia and then catch the RiverCat to New Farm and then walk back to South Bank. Hence all the possible meeting points where you can catch up with us.
Since you both have a need to get away to other things in the afternoon, I think the best place for you to catch the ferry would be South Bank. That way you can spend time at South Bank and then get away to your other engagements without having to get back on the ferry to go to your cars.
According to my timetable, the RiverCat we plan to be on leaves Guyatt Park at 9:33am. It calls in at South Bank at 9:51 and gets to Sydney St., New Farm at 10:13.
It will probably take a couple of hours to walk back to South Bank taking photos along the way of course so we should be there by about midday. Another couple of hours wandering around South Bank before we get back on the ferry and head back to Guyatt Park by about 2:00pm.
I am then taking Ron to the Mt Cootha Gardens and then up to Mt Cootha itself if you are able to stay with us. Should be all finished by about 4:00pm. Well I'll be bloody finished by then :-( @888rachel
@maree_sanderson@aliha I should have also said that the Guyatt Park to South Bank part of the RiverCat ride is very pleasant if you think you can fit it in.
@terryliv I don't think so Poppo. This Saturday's plans have changed shape many times already and I just think it would be crazy to try to fit this in as well, much as I'd love to come!!
