There are fantastic photos in this touching tribute to farmers which was written and narrated by legendary radio broadcaster Paul Harvey. Ram Trucks created this video as their 2013 Super Bowl commercial for the farmer in all of us.
I have the privilege of getting to know several farmers in my county. They are GREAT people! So, I'm posting my own tribute to one of them here- a favorite shot I took while photographing the garlic harvest last year.
I sure miss hearing Paul Harvey's voice on the radio. He had a great talent of looking at our world with eyes of wisdom. If only we had taken the time to listen to what he had to say and think it through! Maybe, just maybe we wouldn't be in the predicament we are faced with today?
@skipt07 I agree. Most of our grandparents had common sense and wisdom that we were too 'smart' to listen to.
But, I think each generation has their own wisdom, and ways of dealing with things, and contribute in their own ways.
Wonder what we will bequeath our children, and be remembered for?
@transatlantic99 Yes, I agree whole-heartedly! Women are vital to the success of any farm operation ... they say that behind every successful farmer is a woman.
And, there are lots of pictures in this video of farm women working as well as the men.
Farm women are the heart and soul of the farm and usually work longer hours than the man. They work the fields beside their husbands, feed the livestock when the man can't, do the parts run, deliver meals, and all the million other odd jobs.
Farmers would have a very hard time succeeding without women.
