lightroom problem?

August 10th, 2016
i have a lightroom issue and i haven't found any help from Dr. Google... likely because google doesn't do well when you ask it "how do i get the thingy back in Lightroom?" ;p

i am using LR CC 2015

the problem is with the graduated filter... i click on the icon and the cursor properly changes to a plus sign... i click to insert the filter, but the lines showing me where the filter is and the toggles that let me change it, as well as the button that should show up so i can click on it later and adjust it, are gone... i can still apply the filter when i first set out to create one, but as i said, the guides and button are gone...

any idea what i did to screw this up?

i have tried closing LR and re-opening, as well as rebooting my computer... but the problem persists...

Oh I think you are going to hate the time this has burned.. you need to press H
for hide show!

We have all been through things like this ;-) selfishly I am glad that I've learnt this through you, rather than by accidentally hitting H myself!!! Actually it is sounding like a useful feature that now I know about it I might use.

By the way my google was creative cloud graduated filter missing gridlines - the answer only came up for Lightroom 5 but I suspect that its the same deal in CC. it is so frustrating when you don't know the right thing to ask google to get the answer you need.

@northy @lizhammond Thanks from me too! Amazing simple solution. I've had things disappear like this.

Me too, it happened just yesterday surprisingly! I shall remember that shortcut, rather than trolling through the menus!
