I need a new monitor. Help me, please.

September 4th, 2016
My monitor is dead and I need a new one.

The size could be between 24 to 27 inch.
Format factor 16:10.
My budget is 400 euro.
My use is only for photography or video editing, no video games.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Asus, Sony, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Dell all have quality products. It's probably 16x9 that you would be looking for, the "standard" HD resolution is 1920x1080.

For photo or video editing, a matte finish rather than a shiny one is usually best. Look for the designation IPS (Inter Plane Switching) so the angle of viewing is close to 180 degrees. Look for something that is advertised as having "full sRGB color coverage" often referred to as 16.7 million colors. And a high contrast ratio 1000:1 or better.

Here are several examples, in US Dollars, not Euros. I know that EU countries will have high import duties on electronic goods, so I don't know what prices you will find. These are good value for money in the US.

@frankhymus

I'm looking for a 16:10 format factor monitor. The horizontal resolution is the same (1920 pixels) but with more vertical resolution (1200 instead of 1080) than a 16:9 monitor. Like the Dell one you suggested.

I agree for matte finish and IPS.

Thank you very much for the links.
