It's been ages since we've had a 365 meetup in London and was wondering if anyone would be interested in coming along?
I was thinking maybe meeting up around lunchtime for a walk about with cameras then finishing with some night photography.
If there are some takers I will suggest a few dates and see which is the most popular
Clive @padlock would you mind being our tour guide, you have arranged some fabulous meetups previously which everyone really enjoyed and I don't know my way around London!
I will be in London from 5pm on Friday 3rd February and all day Saturday 4th February. I am entered in the London Winter Run on Sunday 5th February and fly home that afternoon. If that does not suit then I hope to be in London in July sometime - not sure when.
Historically they've usually been at the weekend as that is when most people can attend. We've had some laughs, like when we met up at Somerset House ("I'll be the one with the camera"), not knowing that London fashion week was on, and everyone in sight had a camera!
My work is very unpredictable as I travel a lot for Fujifilm, but I'll get there if I can - good luck!
I suggest that we meet at 11.00am at Liverpool Street Station. The best place is the Kindertransport Monument which is outside Mcdonald's. If you look for a petite person with long fair hair and carrying a sign that says 365 you will find me. On these events if you can be on time that will be great but I plan to leave the meeting place by 11.15am.
Just a couple of words to clear up some points, this walk is not led by a paid guide nor is there any charge and we tend not to book a place for lunch as people have different likes and dislikes. We will walk about 5 miles easily along streets so comfy shoes are required.
The proposed tour, although you never know with Padlock, he may change this. Start at Liverpool Street, head to Spitalfields Market(normally spend time for shopping on the way back), wander through some of the Ripper Streets before we get to Jamme Masjid Mosque, Brick Lane (famous for its Curry Houses), walk along to view the street art and as it is a Saturday usually street artists abound.
We will then return to Spitalfields Market for a wander before we head towards the Thames, Tower of London, Tower Bridge and views towards City Hall and The Shard for night time photography (Dusk is about 4.00pm). After this disperse or stay and take some more shots.
Suggest you bring camera, waterproof (we walk whatever), memory card, spare battery and a sense of humour!! If there is somewhere you would like to see in this vicinity please shout and we will try to fit it in. If you have never visited this part of London you are in for a real treat, if you have visited it, the street art changes frequently so there is always something new.
Neither Padlock and I are camera experts but if you are new to street photography we are happy to help and if you have some knowledge of it please share it.

Hope you liked the sound of the day's itinerary. It would be good to have a show of hands of those definitely coming as both @padlock and I have to travel from outside London. If the date has become an issue with Christmas looming, let me know and we can always delay until the early part of next year :)
