This was a candid shot I got while taking pics of ducks - I turned around and saw my girl under the bridge, doing her own thing, and quickly snapped her before she moved. I loved everything about it and thought it was so much better than the ducks!
It's hard to pick one, which I think is a good thing! I chose this one since I had wanted to visit this area for decades. @jyokota and I climbed a mountain in the dark to be there for the shot. So, it was not only a photo I liked, but satisfying to have been able to take it. Wishing all a great year ahead!
Just one of those chance encounters where the sun was positioned in just the right spot, the meerkats were posing just right, and I had a camera in hand.
@stray_shooter Thanks. Like you I was just lucky with the timing, being in the right place/time/light - would have liked it to be clearer, but it's a street shot so you take what you get :-).
Looking back through the year made me realise what huge gaps there were - hope to do better this year. I found it so hard to pick but I'm going with this one from March just because I like the light, the place and it was such a random thing that I would be there to see this wee boy experiencing the wonder of his world.
I've learned so much in the past few months I actually don't like any of my earlier stuff (and that is ok ) this one speaks to me on a very personal level so this is the favourite for 2016
February seemed to have a few I like a lot - I have gone with this one from there -
Happy New Year to everyone.
Ightening!
Where is yours Wendy?
@wenbow
Love this kid
a lot I considered had sheep in, and the nearly-winner was some wonderful blue water - but I chose this because it was so completely unexpected
