Your favourite favs of 2016

posted January 6th, 2017
A little later than I anticipated posting but I have been busy working so not much time I'm afraid.

I thought we could do something different to mark the end of 2016 and showcase some of our amazing talent to all the newcomers starting 365 in 2017.

So, show me three of your favs from your top three 365ers and post them here.

Please include their user name so they will receive a notification.

@kwind I love how you make words from nature

@jerome Your landscapes are truly astounding

@shepherdmanswife Last but by no means least. Chantal, I love your animal shots and thoroughly enjoyed meeting you last year

Absolutely impossible to narrow it down to my top three 365ers, I have a lot more than three, so these are three favs from 2016 that just made me say 'Wow - I wish I could get a shot like that!'

by @shepherdman

by @novab

by @francoise (and this one was also my very first ever fav on 365)

@psychographer narrow it down to threeeeeeeee for the whole year lisa? that is going to take some doing. but i'm up for the challenge ;)

my first has to be from the wonderful @mona65. took a while to choose since i must have fav'd practically every single one of her images from 2016. this is quite typical of her, being food delectably captured:

next up is @hiro. all kinds of shots out and about in brighton and london. lots of great b&w but i chose this colour one in the end:

and last but not least @annied, for her creative energy and exuberant versatility. this is one of her more conventional shots, but the light is outstanding, and after all tulips are my favourite flower. i could have mentioned many others, as i follow a whole load of fantastic photographers, but i hope any newbies on the site will find inspiration from these three.

It was fun going back through so many wonderful photos of 2016 that I've enjoyed. Jane Pittenger always inspires me but in particular, what I like about this one is that it's so naturally presented that it makes me feel a sense of wonder that if I just walked into this scene, those stars and the Milky Way would be there for me to enjoy, too. @jgpinttenger

Picking 3 is hard, but these are my fav's.

Jerome @Jerome has amazing talent both with landscapes and nature! This was one of my favs! I remember when he joined and from the start I knew his photography skills were beyond words!

Milanie is one of my favorite photographers! @milaniet has a fantastic eye for birds, bees, and bugs but isn't afraid to take risks! I have many of hers fav'ed but this one is too cute!

Rick @waterfowler has a way with uh er...Water Fowl! I always enjoy seeing a duck in flight as well as many other types of birds he presents. I liked this one preening herself :). Unfortunately Rick has not posted since October.

@psychographer - Oh Lisa, do you know how difficult this is to whittle down 2,087 faves over a year to just three?

Here in no particular order:

What a difficult task - I am not good at choosing photos at the best of times but choosing from all the wonderful photos I fav'd over 2016 - mind blowing.

My first choice has to come from my friend Kevin @kevin365
Not only his images but his words stir my emotions - making me smile, cry often both at the same time

Next is Clare @pistache who I was lucky enough to meet early in 2016. We both enjoy our LensBaby photography and her images are always a delight to view. This image immediately made me smile - I have a soft spot for daffodils

Last but not least is Kali @kali66 - her images are emotive and unique - I love the view of the world she shares with us.

Wow this is hard to pick 3, but I will start with
@photographycrazy his detail and creativity is awesome!

posted January 7th, 2017
My second choise is Jane @jpittenger her work always amazes me!
posted January 7th, 2017
Babs @onewing creativity has inspired me to experiment and try different types of processing!

posted January 7th, 2017
Edwin Ramos @fearinnocent I love the emotion he captures in his photos... there is so much love and joy with father and son here.

Christine Joy @cjoye This is just one example of her amazing talent in lighting and capturing the happiness in her family

And of course being a dog person myself I want to add this one by Alan Simpson @alansimpson I absolutely love the colors and movement in this and of course the expression on Caley's face.

So hard to pick only three people, but if I must choose, these three consistently inspire me with their images:

@jerome, for incredible quality of light

@mona65, for high key and low key perfection

@cjphoto, for wonderful color and whimsy

@annied wow thankyou Annie xxx

A few have already mentioned Jane Pittenger @jgpittenger whose work has inspired me for the past few years. Here's one of my favorites from her recent work with animals and textures.

And for B&W work, I think Andie's @ukandie1 is stellar. She combines b&w with architecture (in the example here) and does great street photography.

But this was so hard, as I think the work by @mona65 @rosiekerr (especially architecture) @jerome (landscapes) @jamibann (Issi -- her little people series is so funny) and @cjphoto (total creativity and playfulness). It's been a great few years to be part of this site.

First of all, I would like to thank Lisa @psychographer for organizing this platform! I think this forum is very much alive by people who raise it at a communicative level, promote mutual exchange and invest time.

It is very difficult to select only three images that are particularly impressive. There are so many highly dedicated and enthusiastic photographers in this forum! My selection is therefore very fragmentary and does not do justice to the many extremely good pictures.

@365daria
Dasha. Traveling through the world of her images is an experience. One always likes to stop and come back again. Her handling of colors, shapes, light-dark and lines is exceptionally impressive. A distinctive style makes her images unique. They are cultivated, extremely sensitive, with a wonderful feeling for organizing a picture. A great talent.

@exposure4u
Wendy. Extraordinary impressive landscapes are presented in her wonderful album. Her pictures are far beyond mere reproducing the reality, they float in an own aesthetic sphere. The love for nature unites with the love for the designed form. An excursion through her pictures is a special experience, a feast for the eyes.

@taffy
Taffy. I think the special qualities of this unusual and great photographer are well known. Exceptionally impressive is her wide range of possibilities of expression. Her images are a constant source of inspiration.

This is impossible challenge, but try I will :

My first is one of @lyndemc 's lovely images. I was so pleased to see Denise returning to 365 towards the end of 2016. This one was taken from her Beauty in Brown series, but seriously, I could have picked any of her images.

My second has to be one of Mona's. @mona65 Again, I could have chosen any one, but I chose this one ...

And the third, well, there are just so many people and images I could have picked ... but this is what I came up with : @alophoto Amanda. She never stops trying to be creative. She's funny and comes up with the best selfies ever. This one made me smile, and for that reason, it's a fav fav.

I could have picked so many more. From each of these girls, but also from so many others who post so many beautiful images that I appreciate greatly. Daryl, Taffy, Richard, Dianne, Julia, Louise, Pam, Junko, Leana, Kim, Sarah, Jennifer, Chantal, Trinda ... you see the problem! I love 'em all. Keep them coming, and have a great 2017.
posted January 10th, 2017
@jamibann Wow, Issi, thanks so much that my face made the list. Truly honored.
posted January 12th, 2017
I have so many! I'll start with parrot girl @alia_801- her colorful ladies make me smile every day! There have been days when the weather is ugly or I'm just down, and I'll find pictures of her girls just being themselves, and I feel better.

Also @pyrrhula - whose pictures of Holland make me want to pack a bag and go! Pictures of buildings, fields, dykes, roads, flowers, I could go on and on.

I agree with @joansmor about @taffy !

@jamibann Issi, you are just the sweetest. Thanks for your nod towards my project and the warm welcome back.
