yes peter sent something out like two weeks ago or so. Unless it was a message on facebook. Four weeks into the year and my mind is already forgetting.
Here is the post from 2012 announcing Film February. I have added in the tag for 2017. It is fun to look back on this now:
"With that said, if anyone wants else wants to join in our madcap world of old school, GET THAT FILM DEVELOPED, and start posting on Feb 1.
Rules
1.) Please, aren't there too many rules already?
2.) See Number 1
Requests to be "good sports"
1.) Tag your image ff17
2.) Please only posts images shot as of recent. While we all love our old photos, this is meant as a means to challenge some to perhaps avoid that little crutch on the back of a digital camera known as "the preview screen".
3.) Post an image each day, or when you want. You don't have to post one for each day.
4.) Use a film camera (I know, duh). It could be a disposable, Six-16, 620, 126, 110, 35mm, Pinhole, Med Format, Large Format...who cares. (I know that a lot of those have no film currently made anymore due to Mercury, etc., but ya never know)
5.) Pretend for one month that Apps, Post processing software, and all those crutches don't exist. Let's see what you have, good, bad, or ugly!
6.) It would be nice to know what kind of camera you used.
7.) Have fun!
8.) If you are in the Challenge, take the time to look at others work using the tag ff17, the good, bad, and ugly, and comment. Provide tips that will help.
While this is not meant to be a Challenge for "Digi-Heads Anonymous" Members, please be prepared to say:
"I will refrain from Hipstamatic, Photoshop, and a delete button. I will take the time to look through a viewfinder. I will laugh at myself if I shoot an image with a film camera, and look at the back of the camera from habit. I will not be a slave to a Megapixel. I secretly love the aroma of the Developer, Fixer, and Stop Bath Cocktail. I will not say SOOC because film is always SOOC.
(I think my meds are off)
NO prizes. No voting. If you do it, you win. Why? Because you WILL likely learn something valuable that you can Teleport back over to Digi-land.
Begins: Feb 1. Ends Feb 28. (keep posting all the time, if ya really enjoy it. I won't stop ya!)"
Any recommendation of good places to get film developed? I know part of the art is in the developing, but I don't have a dark room nor a place for one :/
@meowtographer that will depend on where you live to locate a film developing lab? Self develong is fairly easy using a daylight tank. I load the film in the tank using our walk-in-robe which seals light out. Once loaded in the tank I develop in the laundry or kitchen.
@ingrid2101 I would love to take part in this. And I bought a new (old) camera today. Count me in!
@meowtographer are you in the UK? I have had great experience with www.filmdev.co.uk - £3 to develop and scan for any C41 print film including return postage of your negatives. A better job, and less than it cost me in the nineties. Bargain!
@peterdegraaff thanks! I found a couple services online but they are so far away it would probably take forever to get the negs back. I have checked with our local labs, no go. I will look into the daylight tank.. one of our local labs still does scanning so I will probably try that route. @chris667 I am in US but thanks for the suggestion!
I wish I still had my darkroom set up. We have lived in three hoses in one year. I have wanting to shoot film with all my heart. I may shoot just don't know when I will get the developed. Thank you for thinking of me. I will be with you in spirit!

Lets make the tag ff17 for this year ie film february 17. I had only mentioned it in a conversation a few weeks ago.
It is great to see film is making a resurgence and even Ektachrome is going to come back. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-01-25/film-is-not-dead-film-photography-resurgence-brisbane/8210526
