Hi
I am puzzled how an image makes it onto the popular page. I have had images on there which have only had a few visits, likes and comments. Yet I have others with many more likes, visits and comments which don't.
I don't really mind, just interested if anyone know.
Around the time I first joined I saw someone say its an algorithm at least partially based on how much interaction photos around it have gotten but I don't know if that's accurate or not. If nothing else, it seems like a reasonable guess.
I think it's down to the speed at which people comment and fave as in uk will drop of PP but when usa/Canada log on can then get back on PP. Also it's linked to a rating @scrivener system gives you , whatever way it's nice when a photo gets on evening only foe a couple of minutes!!!!
It's an algorithm, and not really a true measure of how popular your photo is, or how many FAVs it got. I've had shots with only one or two FAVs make it to the PP, and other shots with almost as many FAVs as comments that didn't, so I always get a good chuckle out of people who respond to their comments with something like, "thanks for getting this on the PP."
