Catching Up OR Starting Over???

May 13th, 2017
I have a question to anyone who cares to answer! I started my project the first of this year, and have been enjoying the experience very much. Unfortunately, back in March, I had a short hospital stay for my yearly testing to see how I am doing. A little history on me for those of you who don't know, I have a rare lung disease that can't be cured and will be terminal, it can be fast or a slowly progressing process and because of the problem in my lungs it is causing my heart to weaken. The testing involves a heart cath, echocardiogram, breathing tests, walk tests, blood tests, and so on! This last year was hard, beacause i started a new medicine that made me very ill but in the long run was supposed to improve me for awhile and after the testing we found out that it didnt work that my heart was weaker. That left me with some very hard decisions to make about some life altering big changes in my treatment and in turn brought me down, as well as, the ups and downs of med changes. On top of it all, my computer went and crashed on me as well! Anyways, I am still smiling, and I am feeling a lot better now, computer is fixed. I would like to add that this whole time since March I have managed to keep taking pictures and have tons. With all that being said, here is my question!!! I have not posted since March and I am not sure if there is a rule on this but can I catch up my project or should I restart my year from now? I want to pre-Thank anyone who can help me out with this!

@jak0913 Hello Julie Sorry to hear about your medical problems. You'll find many of us have things going on the background that cause us to let 365 go for a while. But you will find a welcome on your return and the general cry will be 'It's your project and your rules!' Have you got the time and the will to fill in all your blanks or just pick up from today (or when ever) and carry on. Maybe occasionaly go back and fill in a space if you find yourself with a 'no inspiration day'. I had quite a few months off when I was caring for my mum but now its like I've never been away! Good luck with whatever you decide.

@jak0913 Hi Julie, sorry to hear about your health problems. Glad that you're feeling better now. As Cherrill said, people tend to make their own rules so nobody will judge you whatever your decision. Sometimes I get behind and I just pick up and carry on and go back later to fill so that's what I'd suggest. Plus, you said that you've continued to take photos even though you haven't posted them so I'd just go for it. All the best

Julie, so sorry to hear about your health problems and I completely understand your situation. I had the same thing happen to me for a year or so. I have not filled in the blanks, but then I didn't continue to take pictures every day. If you have pictures you took during the time, I would think you could go ahead and fill them in. I know everyone would enjoy seeing them. My suggestion would be to fill them in a few at a time. I find it works better for me. I know sometimes I hate to see picture after picture by the same person. I run out of things to say....but that is just me. I would love to see the ones that you took during your absence.

@jak0913 hi Julie, I would do just as you feel. Its your rules and your goals Sorry to hear about your health issues, I have yet to complete a whole year as life just gets in the way! I am currently filling the blanks a little and when I can, that's how it is! Keep as well as you can and enjoy all those shots you have taken. x

If you look, lots of timelines have gaps. What I do is pick up, carry on...and then if the mood strikes, go back and fill in from some of those other days. It can even bring back memories as you sort through the older photos. But don't make it a "must". Today is a new day, new photos...and maybe a chance to look back at some of the old ones.... or not.

That's my two cents, as they say.

Thank You everyone for all your time you took to stop and answer me, I appreciate and it has helped me very much. I am going to take all of your advice and just start back today then fill-in a little at a time. Awesome to be back and back on track. I missed this while I was gone. Have a nice day all.

Julie you are a real trooper!! I commend you for taking pictures when others might have given up. I think it's really up to you and what you feel like you want to do. You were so dedicated, it would be worth it to post those pictures. But if that seems overwhelming to you, then do what you're comfortable with. I agree with Henri though, if you choose to back fill do it a little bit at a time that way your followers can comment on all of them and you don't overwhelm the feed with your pictures. I hope your health continues to improve and you will be in my prayers!

@jak0913 Hope your health keeps on improving....
What I think is that it is up to you BUT it wouldn't be that hard to upload all your photos at once and change the dates...and you dont have to do lengthy descriptions or creative titles :)
Again, it is up to you...and if you don't feel up to taking a photo you can always use one of the pictures from March that you haven't posted yet :)
