"Restricted" viewing and challenges?

June 22nd, 2017
Could somebody please be kind enough to help with a pretty dumb question. How is it possible to upload a photo which is really just aimed at a challenge - and not subject other people to having it appear on their feed? I thought the restricted viewing choice might work - but I now realize that this probably means that it won't show up on the tag - even though I see it!! Haha - I guess I'm not restricted!
Any help will be gratefully received.
Cheers Rob Z

@robz Hi Rob, if you upload your photo as restricted, nobody else can see it unless they are on your list as favoured viewers. However if you go in to edit, the little pencil icon, after you have uploaded it and change the setting to open to all viewers, it is now visible to all viewers who go to your page or search the tag, but it will not show up in the latest photos feed.

Ahh! Thank you so much. That will work perfectly - and it's easy to do. Thank you again for your time and help. Cheers Rob Z

I am not sure why you don't want it to appear on people's feed...challenges are there to give us ideas and motivation and are part of 365....I like seeing what friends come up with for challenges and those images are as valid as any others.

@annied Hi Annie - I hadn't actually thought of it like that. But I do like playing around with a lot of them and it seemed that it would be annoying to people. I was only thinking of hiding some of them but after what you said I might just limit it to the ones that seem less than interesting (I'm still learning to do most things so some of them are pretty ordinary LOL.) Thanks for your comment - much appreciated.

Had this person registered her photo with a tag for your challenge? If so I feel that you have the wanted to publish it in the top five if the author is one and choices. She would not have entered the contest if did not want to win.

@kathyboyles Hi Kathy - thanks for your comment. However, this query had nothing to do with the current backlit challenge. Instead it was just a personal query involving my own images. Thank you anyway for your response. Cheers Rob Z

I agree with Annie D, I really enjoy seeing what people do for various challenges and feel it pushes me. As far as I'm concerned, post away!

Rob!!! I love viewing all your pictures!! Why do you want restrictions??!!

I think I understand...sometimes I produce some odd edits (like WWYD) that I'm not sure about showing off as "mine." But they really are part of the fun. I'd recommend just letting the photos show in the feed, and note in the comments that it's for a challenge. I like seeing the different stuff.

@brender Thanks for your feedback Brender - this might be a good way to become more discerning about what goes up there! If in doubt-leave it out!! Haha. Thanks for your comment.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Jackie - you are too kind!! I just felt funny about having so many experimental trials clogging up people's feed. You are so encouraging. OK - self evaluation - but if it looks alright put it up for some feedback. Thanks for this!! Cheers

@houser934 Hi Kathryn- I like your suggestion about saying that it's for a challenge. And I guess if it's weird or boring people can just zoom by. Thank you for taking the time and effort to reply. Much appreciated. Cheers Rob Z

I think it's fun to see what folks come up with for the challenges. Go ahead and share them all!

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - that sounds like very positive advice. Thanks for replying - it's nice to know that some weird shots appearing doesn't seem to be an annoyance. Thanks again Cheers Rob
