For Canon and Nikon APS-C cameras. One might wonder how sharp and clear this can possibly be, but when it is released in July, let's see what the latest technology can do for us. List price US$649. Tamron sells a 16-300 currently for US$549 and Sigma an 18-300 for US$499. I have tried both on rental and to me the Sigma performs somewhat better, but not by much.
From what I've read so far it's a bit soft at the 400 end as you would expect. But overall performs very well consider the range. That said I don't think I will be buying one but there is a lack of a 400 mm in the nikon range.
I too have the 16-300 lens which I hardly ever take off the camera - it was a very convenient choice for travelling with plus a 50mm. Both worked well on my travels.
