Saving photos

November 4th, 2017
Looking for your thoughts on how best to save photos externally which are currently saved on a old desktop. The goal would be to view them on another computer or print them. If this has been discussed elsewhere please direct me.
Bit of a luddite so please talk slowly. LOL Thanks

Maybe you can use an external hard drive? Then you can show your photos on any computer you like.

If you Google "photo hosting sites" you'll get a selection of free and premium offers for hosting all your photos. This has the advantage of being able to share your photos with anyone who you give access to, and they can be accessed anywhere with any connected device. (External hard drive is a good idea anyway, just for security purposes).

@ingajohansson @peadar Thanks Inga and Peter. Is there an external hard drive you'd recommend for an old Apple. I was saving on Time Machine and then learned it can only be viewed on my computer.

I use a Seagate drive. It and the software seem to work fine. I am on a PC. They do offer back up drives for Macs as well, but I'm sure you can check online reviews.

@kathiecb I don't know of any external hard drive to recommend but I think you can get one almost anywhere to a good price these days.
