Where do you post a response?

If some one is kind enough to compliment a photo or ask a question, do you post your response on your own page or do you comment on the page of that person? I am of 2 minds about this. If you don't post on your own page, people following you might think you are unresponsive. On the other hand, the original poster might not check back. (In fact, why would he?) What's the smart thing to do?

Most of the time I respond on my own page so if anyone reading my comments is also curious about a particular question or such asked, they can see my response. Sometimes in addition to commenting back on my page, I will also put a reply on their page as well.

Yes, I'm beginning to do a litte bit of both, as well. At least if you post back on their page, they will an e-mail with the response.

I thought of this too... as I have been getting some nice replies and questions on my own images.

What is the process for making site changes? Since we get reply messages in email for our own pictures, It would be nice to be "subscribed" to pictures you have commented on.

There are a lot of times I find a nice image on POPULAR or DAY or a tag and I am not following that person but would be interested in others thoughts or if they have answered a question I have made.

I usually post the response on my own photo. I guess if people are interested in a reply to their question they might look back later in the day to check it out.

Ditto to Daniel Fisher's comment.

you know why not do a mixture of both? Reply back on your own page but taek the time out to check out their photos and comment on ones that you like :)

Seems like we all have pretty much the same idea but I like Jeff's suggestion that we could subscribe to pictures we have commented on. I know when I post a comment on many websites, I am notified if there is a follow-up. Wonder if 365 Project might consider that.
