Hi everybody. Right now I just use a point an click camera and have a birthday and anniversary coming up and hubby wants to get me a nicer camera. What Cannon camera would anyone recommend to someone who is not a techno geek? I like to learn things as I go, not really read up and study a lot. A Cannon would make the most sense since hubby has a really nice Cannon and lots of lenses.

I use a Canon Rebel XTi and I think it is a perfect DSLR.
It isn't too pricey compared to what is out there, and I personally think it is the perfect camera for someone who isn't professional but really really loves to take photos.
I'd advise going for whatever you can afford in the XXXD range, that is, 450D, 500D, 550D. The 1000D is lower down and probably not worth the effort, while the XXD or XD ones are possibly a bit much for a first timer, but I guess it depends how much disposable income one has.
Probably a good idea to leave space in the budget for a couple different lenses too, so you can really get into the dSLR experience.

Ok so I just looked at your photos. Cancel what I said about an XXD or XD being too much for a first timer. Get whatever you can manage!
I have a Canon xsi, which I think came out shortly after the xti that Chris is talking about. They're basically the same I think. The camera is important, but the lenses are important too. If I had more cash, I'd definitely upgrade to what Steve is talking about, but my little xsi is pretty awesome for the money!
I looked at your pics, too, and you have a great eye!
I agree. I just bought a Canon XSi and love it. It's not the newest model, so was reasonably affordable, but still is new enough to have some good features. Plus it's compatible with all Canon EF & EF-S lenses; if I ever upgrade the body, the lenses I buy now will fit the new one!
