THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!

February 2nd, 2011
Oh my god. I am speechless, and so so so so grateful that I got to know people like you. I JUST knew that the internet started working again, and the first thing I went to was 365, to find your beautiful comments. I was planning on replying to each and everyone of you, but then I saw this http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/3726/please-support-the-brave-egyptians
and http://365project.org/discuss/general/3646/pray-for-dalia-elmaghraby-and-eqypt
and I am seriously speechless!
Things have been CRAZY here. I don't even know how I am still sane. aha
First it was all about safe protesting,
Then, things were burnt, and thousands of criminals were let out.
And they started robbing houses, and burning houses, and things got out of control since there were no policemen or anything. My friend's house got burnt and she now lives with her grandparents, and a lot of people got robbed.
In the resort I live in, all of the men and boys got out with their dogs and weapons to protect us,and they're going on shifts until now, and they said if anything happened one man would horn and all others would continuously to let us know that there is something so as not to go out.
There were many false alarms, and every time there was a false alarm I freaked out.
I was ready to lose my house. I had it all planned in mind. If they came to our place, I am going to hide my valuable things in my clothes, I am going to take my family, and we're going to leave the house. Because they killed people who stood in their way.
I've been spending the last few days sleeping with my clothes on, with my bag beside me, ready for anything to happen.
The criminals, most of them were professionals, and some were supposed to be executed.
So far nothing happened to my family and I, but we're still not fully safe. Men are still going on shifts, we still sleep with weapons beside us, but I think that things are finally getting better.

I've just seen the pictures supporting us Egyptians, oh my god guys, this is amazing. Thank you so much.

Thankyou so much for all of your prayers, and your support, you have no idea how much that made my day. THANK YOU!

UPDATE : Just when we thought that things are getting better, we realize that things are actually getting worse! The people who want Mubarak are now fighting against the people who DON'T want Mubarak, and I am afraid this is going to lead to a civil war. Ah, enough is enough. I think they should just go back to their houses.
February 2nd, 2011
Welcome back!

Oh my word, that sounds terrifying! I am sooo glad you're all safe, but I just wish it didn't have to have happened at all... We've all been worried for you and the other Egyptian 365ers, but I don't know if any of us knew how bad it was really. Do you know how the others are? Heba and all of them?
February 2nd, 2011
oh! Dalia! this is terrible. nothing like we see or read in media, in France at least. Hope you, your family and loves will be all fine. Send you the best support I can and thank you for giving us news. Like many others I'm thinking of you very often because what happens in your country hits the headlines and you're the only Egyptian I know... Is this post means the internet is back? we heard it been shuty down?
Courage Dalia, bises
February 2nd, 2011

February 2nd, 2011
Oh, such a relief to see your post! I know you are going through an awful time. Continued prayers for all affected by the turbulence in Egypt ~ especially you, Dalia, ~ and Salma and Heba. Stay safe and keep us updated as you can.
February 2nd, 2011
@daliadestructo It sounds absolutely terrifying. Just glad that you have come through and we will be keen to know how things go. So sorry you went through all that and I hope that your country will now be able to secure some of the demands being made for greater democracy. So sorry for your friend. You and your family, take care.
February 2nd, 2011
Stay Safe & Sound, dalia.... hope this NIGHTMARE ends soon....
February 2nd, 2011
Stay safe. Best wishes to you, your family, and your country.
February 2nd, 2011
What is the word about who let these people out of jail? Clearly someone with an interest in stopping the people of egypt did it.
February 2nd, 2011
How terrifying. I hope that you stay safe and that soon this can be over. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia, I can't even imagine. I just read this to my daughters, as it's history in the making and your post puts it all into a personal perspective for them. (Both have loved your photos since I started this Project.) Our best thoughts are with you that you will continue to be unharmed and things will move along peacefully and quickly.
February 2nd, 2011
I'm so glad you've been staying safe Dalia, I've thought of you every time I've seen the news of what's happening. Thanks for checking in with us and letting us know what's happening with you. Simply terrifying. Please continue to stay safe :)
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia, I am really so happy you are back. Can´t imagine what is to be in a situation like this.
Hope everything ends very soon. Best wishes from Brazil. Take care.
February 2nd, 2011
Unbelievable. My heart is aching for you. Praying for your safety and that positive change happens quickly, including peace for you all. xoxo!!
February 2nd, 2011
Reading your report is heartbreaking - so hoping that the signs carry on being good for a peaceful resolution to all this and one that meets the needs and hopes of all Egyptian people. There's nothing like a first-hand report to bring the news home to you. Keep safe.
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia, I got tears in my eyes as I read through this... I am very glad to hear you are alright, very intense days! Hope things continue to go well for your family and you!
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia, I am so relieved to hear from you. I just cannot imagine how terrifying this has been (and still is) for you, your family and friends. All we can do is continue to pray that this situation will come to a peaceful resolution and very soon. I know you may not be able to stay in touch regularly with us, but do use the discussion board rather than try to reply to each of us as that would take you forever as your support system has grown and grown since last week as more and more 365ers watched the news and wanted to let you know they care :-) We love you. Be safe, brave girl. Hugs. Karen
February 2nd, 2011
My heart goes out to you and your family. As unbelievable as your words seem... knowing it is incredibly real brings me to tears. Please know you have millions of people keeping you and the rest of your country in their prayers. Many hugs and a lot of love to you!
February 2nd, 2011
You, your family and everyone living this nightmare is in our hopes of a quick resolution!
February 2nd, 2011
Oh Dalia, thank you for the update. My heart breaks for you and your family and I truly hope that a peaceful resolution will be reached quickly. The fear you describe is so real and I pray you and your family and community are able to remain safe. Looting, robbing and violence only make these intense situations worse. Stay Strong! Much love
February 2nd, 2011
welcome back! i'm so glad you're safe. it must be terrifying to live there at the moment.
i'll keep you in my thoughts xx
February 2nd, 2011
Wow!!! How much we take for granted when we don't feel threatened. Please know we are here, even if only to bounce things off of. I pray things get under control very soon for the whole country and the people come out of this stronger and more determined to lead peaceful and productive lives.
February 2nd, 2011
Agree with Dalia what we see the last days we never imagine ...every one searching for any kind of weapon to protect himself if we face any attack mens stay all the night in the streets all in his area
generally the matter now is not good completely I think people must stop the demonstrations and wait for some time because what is going now will lead to more destruction and may be to a catastrophe
I really touched by your feeling my dear friends
February 2nd, 2011
Welcome back Dalia! Everyone has been so worried, and many prayers have been sent out, and apparently answered since you're still here. We'll continuing praying for your safety and for a quick end to the mess you're dealing with. I'll also say prayers for your friend who lost her home. Take care of yourself!
February 2nd, 2011
@daliadestructo I'm so glad that you and your family are safe! I hope this nightmare will finish soon! You are in my thoughts xxx
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia: Thank you for letting us in the tangible, humane part of this process. I truly hope you will rest united as a people. Unity is key in moments like these. Watching U.S. news chains yesterday, I am afraid civil unrest may be an incentive used by superpowers to intervene in your country during the next months. Please be safe and know that the international community is watching and sending more prayers that way. -Mexico City
February 2nd, 2011
Wow, just wow! What a scary situation! I will definitely keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Nobody should have to go through that, especially in this day and age!

February 2nd, 2011
Keep safe. I will be praying for your safety and your communities safety.
February 2nd, 2011
Please use some preventive measures also. At night, turn out lights that are behind you. Keep curtains closed. Set up some type of alerting device on your doors so you will feel safe while you get the rest you need. These devices can be made out of house items.
I will continue to pray for you and your friends.
February 2nd, 2011
So thankful you are safe! Thank you for checking in. Sending more positive thoughts your way and for the good people of Egypt.

February 2nd, 2011
Ohh dear lord, I hope you stay safe. We have been glued to SKY news here all day, it is horrendous. Throwing stones and fire bombs at each other while tanks are just sat there in the middle of it all. It is scary to watch let alone live through it.

I hope you, your friends and family stay safe. Thinking of you from Scotland UK xXx
February 2nd, 2011
This is just crazy! I've been watching coverage since everything started, but nothing mentions what you've said. I hope you, your family, and your friends continue to be safe.
February 2nd, 2011
Stay safe and we will be praying for all of you.
February 2nd, 2011

February 2nd, 2011
Dalia - this thread in itself would make great international news. Your story might help bring a very personal perspective. Do you want me to notify press? I would just send them this link - (which is anyway in the public domain) but your story is very special and as people say, we haven't heard it. Only if you think it would help.
February 2nd, 2011

So glad to hear that you're okay. I can't begin to imagine what it's like. From the comfort of my sofa I watch the news and follow it on the internet from my safe office. It all makes me feel so helpless...your life-threatening situation, the cyclone in Australia, even the snow storms here in the U.S.
My thoughts are with you and please let me know if there is anything I can do.

February 2nd, 2011
@daliadestructo stay safe. We havent' been getting very much on the news here in queensland (since it's full of flood and now cyclone news) but we've been following it a bit online. It's nice to hear personal accounts. I hope it calms down soon.

I think I'd be torn between wanting to get photos, and knowing it might not be the best thing to do with the fighting
February 2nd, 2011
Dalia, thank you for your post, it is good to hear you are OK, though I still pray that you, your family and friends are safe. The details you've posted sound terrifying, and like others have said, not what is being reported on well, not in the UK anyway! Big virtual hugs to you all. Cx

February 3rd, 2011
@daliadestructo Dear Dalia, we cannot comprehend what is really happening when we only see the news items that are shows or press releases, and no one knows what atrosocities are being or will be done under cover of this calamity. I like what 'sarasdadand mom ' wrote about your personal safety. I will lift you and your loved ones and family up to" my God that He will Protect you with His Mantle of Precious Blood, and will bring you all through this time of terror without injury or pain. " I will continue to place you in His hands each night when I say Prayers for my family and friends on my Prayer List. May God Bless you and Protect you and you family & friends.

February 4th, 2011
Hi Dalia
Just found this really inspiring story of one of many people that have been trying to help Egyptians overcome the communications cut. In our own way, that was what we were trying here on 365. Maybe you can pass this link on, though it's Aljazeera so your connection might be cut to that, along with BBC. http://english.aljazeera.net/video/middleeast/2011/02/201122123021363973.html
February 4th, 2011
My heart and prayers are with you, your family, and your country.

Dalia, stay strong! I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I have a cousin who is over there studying Arabic and I am concerned for the both of you. Trust and believe!
February 5th, 2011
Please be careful. I have just read in a Robert Fisk article that people who returned home from Tahrir Square have 'disappeared'. He's a highly respected journalist here - I don't know how he is viewed in Egypt. http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/fisk/robert-fisk-exhausted-scared-and-trapped-protesters-put-forward-plan-for-future-2205079.html
Though I think they knew the risk they were taking, this is for Mohab and Sherif too...@almohab and @swagih Anyway, I hope you find this article of use.
February 5th, 2011
Thinking of you and your family, and i hope and pray you all stay safe and strong.
February 5th, 2011
Stay safe - sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way.

February 5th, 2011
@miranda yep, unfortunately thugs were hired to kidnap some of the notable names in the protests.
They're starting to free them,or so I heard.
February 6th, 2011
@daliadestructo You and your fellow Egyptians remain in my prayers. I hope this all ends for you soon.
