ok so when i first started the project the date on my photos showed up everyday ,
then a couple of days ago i saved a file to upload somewhere else and i saved it for web so it removed the data (date etc) , i never really thought anything of it until now but i just realised beacuse i didnt change my settings back my last few photos i uploaded on here arent showing the dates like they did before and the ones ive just done a quick edit on that i took this morning ive also saved without changing the settings ! GRR !!
does it matter that , although every photo ive taken has been taken on the day, the last few dont show the details because of the way i've saved ? its annoyed me as i know i took them on the day and i know its my own stupid fault but its so annoying !!
I don't know why the date isn't showing on the "Date taken" field as that is simply the date you choose when in edit mode. The date you took the photo will be embedded in the exif information (if your camera stores this) and this cannot be changed.
However, some post processing software can "mess around" with the exif metadata so if you're heavily into post processing, some information can get lost.
i think ive sorted it now :) when i saved one to upload elsewhere i chose not to carry the exif info with the file , and then never changed it back for things ive saved since , just re-edited todays shot that ill upload later and its now carrying the date again yay !
I sometimes use a PhotoSuite program for editing and that strips exif data when I resave in jpeg . . . doesn't really matter, unless it bothers you. You can select the posting date when you download . . .
