Missing exif data on Google Photos

Apologies if this has already been covered but I can't find it anywhere.

I'm a newcomer here and was having trouble understanding why the EXIF data wasn't making it onto most of my uploaded photos.

After a fair amount of experimenting I have discovered that if I browse to my (cloud based) Google Photos (which is where I tend to store them all) from the 365project upload screen using my Android phone or tablet then the resulting uploaded image doesn't include the exif data.

If, on the other hand, I download the photo from Google Photos onto the device prior to uploading (and so upload the download.... argh, sorry!!) then it works fine. This doesn't seem to be an issue on PCs as I don't think there is any option but to download the photo first.

I'm guessing that others may also have come across this issue (and I suspect it MAY happen with other cloud services like OneDrive), so maybe this will save a few moments and a bit of frustration. There may of course be other workarounds but this seems to work ok for me.

I hope this might help somebody!

This is really interesting. I often email photos to my Dad and sometimes they contain the exif and sometimes they don't, despite not changing how I send! There are moments when it seems kind of random!

Also having weirdo things happening since upgrading to Mac Mojave on computer, where previous simply numbered images I uploaded from my Nikon now say "full_sizedoutput" with some random numbers and letters afterwards. Playing havoc with our filing system!!
