I have to apologize for not getting the October Words up and running. Life got just too hectic (I even missed last week's Weekly SH*T List!!)
So I am putting out a request for someone to take over this monthly task from me. I find myself getting busier and unable to devote the time or effort this wonderful challenge deserves.
Is there anyone willing to take on this monthly chore?
It really is not a big deal. I send out a request for suggestions during the last week of the month and use as many of them as I can for the actual list. And to do this , I usually just cut and paste the previous month's request with a bit of fresh intro to make it unique.
I try to incorporate any special happenings or holidays to give that month a theme and also try to coat tail on the special themes run by members (Flash of Red, Half/Half, Richard's SOOC September, etc) to chose the words.
That is the easy part. The part that takes time for me is the poster/picture header that members want to go on the top of the thread.
I have been cheating this last year by using the previous year's poster as a template and just changing the words, tag, and stuff. I do have them in a file that I can do that with ... you, unfortunately, may have to make a new one each month.
I am a techno-nerd (though getting better) so you would be able to do this faster than me. And, as a bonus, you as a new host would bring a new fresh personality to the word of the month.

I will find some old posts about it and give it a go - I am not afraid to admit defeat if I can't handle it - only trouble will be my erratic memory hahahaha
