Prints

March 8th, 2011
I'm at the point where I want to blow up and print some of my photos.

In the past I've used services like snapfish and haven't been overwhelmed with the quality with some prints appearing pixelated.

What service does the community use and how happy are you with the results?

Also, I'm probably going to want to get prints little and often, so I wonder if there is some subscription based services to save paying crazy postage every time?

Thanks a lot!

I've had prints blown up to 20x30 at Costco and was very happy with the results.

I use mpixpro. When you sign up they give you 5 free 8x10s to test your monitor settings, which is nice. Prices are decent and everything ships next day for $4, or free if your order is over $100. I've been really satisfied with them.

Just read that you're in France, I'm not sure what their international shipping policies are, but it's worth a look.

I just found out that Staples (an office supply store) enlarges photos at their copy and print center within the store. They have a special price for a poster size, which includes mounting the photo on a white board and laminating it. I thought I would check with the local stores, such as the printing shops and Walgreens Pharmacy, which has a good photo processing center. I will check with on the suggestions here too. I am also interested in having a picture enlarged onto canvas. Does anyone know of a place which does this?

I have used Shutterfly and have generally been happy with their prints compared to Snapfish but I am super happy with www.bayphoto.com. Love their print quality, love their care in shipping and their customer service. Yes, they are a little more expensive than Shutterfly/Snapfish but I think it is worth it. They are the printer I use for my website: www.autumneden.com.

I use http://www.scrappingsimply.com/ for my digital scrap booking pages. Usually 12x12. Shipping is $5 flat. ($10 international) They are quick, they use Fuji Crystal Archive Premium. I also used them to print my own digitally made Christmas cards.

As bad as this may sound, in the U.S. I use Sam's Club but it is the same machines as Walmart. I have yet to be disappointed and save a lot of money at the same time.
