Help--donated photos

April 9th, 2011
I offered to donate 2 framed photos for a silent auction we're doing at work to raise money for March of Dimes. With that in mind, can you please look through my photos and see if any would be OK to donate and not too amateurish? I'm thinking of using this one:

But beyond that I don't have anything in mind that will work. If you were donating some photos ... what would you choose? I'm thinking I need to photograph UVA since we're in Charlottesville. Anyone have any other ideas? I'm suddenly really nervous now.

Thanks for any help!

I like te bird, and I think the one of the old red truck would make for a nice framed piece for the right person!

This is a lovely photo that could be in a variety of room...

The train tracks are cool... personally I would have gone portrait and just had the tracks...

this fog one would look lovely in a bedroom....

The colours are beautiful in this (though that may also limit where and who would want it... it would not work in my house)

I love the pattern of this and it would look great really large above a bed

I don't know if I have helped but you have some great shots.... I do love your soccer shots, I haven't had a chance to get any sports shots so far this year but I will add it to my to do list

This one. There’s just something about the colors and lighting I like.

And this one. Everyone loves a good picture of a cool old truck. Especially a red one.

I like the robin picture you posted as well.

I know what you mean about being nervous. Someone I knew in high school does film documentaries and lives in Virginia now. I’m in Indianapolis and he asked me to take some pictures of some things to send him for a new project he is working on. I felt so much pressure! I so much the amateur!

All of the suggestions so far have been spot on. I might also add this one, because something about the focus makes it look kind of drawn rather than a photo, and I find it interesting.

I also think this one would look really nice in a den:

And this one would look nice in my kitchen!

And, very lastly, I think this one is very calm and peaceful. I think it would be lovely in a guest room:
