watermarking

does anyone recommend or know of a good, free program that can do watermarking?

i'm pretty sure there is a script on Gimp to do watermarking. and Gimp is free!

yo, all yah do is make a text layer ("YO IM NATALIE DONT STEAL MAH PHOTOS BISH" or something like that) and make it less opacity. u can do most things in gimp as in photoshop. do u know how to do actions in gimp/photoshop?

oh i watched the first 2 minutes of that show and decided i didnt have the attention span and didnt wanna watch it. (kim had it on her computer)

Picasa 3 is free from Google and it will watermark all exported photos.

@Michael and Jessica - I have picasa 3. and although I first tried making a watermark through picnik...can't you just make one through picasa 3 by using the different types of fonts? and then fading them?
