Back in December Linda @wndswptlady asked this community to share our photos for a project that she was creating to help the residents of the long term care facility that she works at. The idea behind this was to help the residents manage their pain beyond medications- she was met with an overwhelming response from this loving community. This got me thinking that whether or not this concept would go beyond pain management- would it have any effect on Alzheimer's disease and dementia. I have asked Linda for permission to share this idea with the Director of Nurses at the facility that I work for and she has agreed! This morning I met with my DON and presented this idea to him, and he loved it!! So 365ers I'm wondering if you all would be again willing to share your amazing talent to help the residents that I care for. If you are interested in helping me you can post your photo(s) here or email them to me directly @ rebcastillo1977@aol.com. If you are willing please also include your name and location as I want to be able to properly credit all who contribute!

@herussell I am looking for anything really- I'd like to have a variety of different subject matter so that I put together a project that flows well together. Plus they say variety is the spice of life right ? :D
Rebbecca, I can tell you that I have put together a collection of photos and put the presentation with music and they love it. I use if off and on, and I have also put together a CD of resident photos with music, and they enjoy seeing each other being involved in activities. It stimulates conversationas they recognize each other. It will be well worth your investment of time to see the happy rewards on the faces of the residents. I will gladly submit some photos for your use. I will post on here later.

@clarissajohal yes they will be a slideshow of some sort- I am hoping to set it to music :D I wouldn't print everyones work as it would be to easy for them to end up somewhere they don't belong :D

@rebcastillo77 Okay--sounds good. Any of them should be fine. I had some printed (on paper) not too long ago and on one of them, the colours/resolution was kind of off. :( It was disappointing.

In doing my own project, I found that the Alzheimer's residents that were viewing the show really reacted to animals , flowers and children shots. Nothing too 'busy'.
I'll send you an email to describe how I kept track of everything if you like. It was quite an undertaking, but soooooooooo worth it!

@rebcastillo77 I used powerpoint and put it on a flash drive because it was too large for a CD! I used photos as backgrounds for each page unless it stretched out the photo, then I inserted the photo on a black background.

Rebbecca, this is something very close to me; my mom, my best friend since I was a small girl, has alzhiemer's, and it is heart wrenching to see first hand what this disease does. I am my moms primary caretaker, and although I'm honored to care for her, it can be an exhausting, sad, and thankless job. Many days I barely make it half way home before I break down in tears. I love her fiercely but there are days I think I can't bear another day, but of course I do, and will continue to do so for as long as I'm physically able to. Love takes the best of us....
So, thank you for doing this, and by all means use any photo of mine you'd like to.

You are certainly welcome to use my pictures. I guess it must be quite difficult to go through all the offerings, so here are a few suggestions - but feel free to use anything else that catches your eye. Good wishes with the work you are doing. (The pictures are all taken in Cape Town, South Africa)

I am willing to participate but would rather leave the choice up to you. Not sure if you are going to get too much of one thing or another or if you want peaceful or upbeat.

When I put the show online at http://www.slideshare.net/lindamango/the-love-project-2011 I just uploaded that PowerPoint presentation and it created sides.
I would imagine we could see more work such as your presentation and mine as it's been viewed over 2,770 times in just a week!
