Goodbye camera (I think)

May 10th, 2010
Well it started like this. I was walking around the house when I fell right on top of my camera which was in a small belt pouch. The view screen was smashed. I emailed a camera repair guy and am hoping it is fixable. Now I am tensely waiting for a reply. For now I'll have to post old pictures. For those of you who are iterested my camera is a compact Fuji Film z20 digital.

May 10th, 2010
Yikes, Rowan! I'm so sorry to hear about your camera! Well, I'm hoping you hear some good news back about it soon, and I'm sure we'll enjoy seeing some of your older pics in the meantime.

Ooooo Noooo!!! So sorry! Hope it can be fixed or replaced soon, before you get withdrawl symptoms too badly! Meanwhile, I'm sure I'll enjoy your 'old' pics.
May 10th, 2010
oh, sorry to hear that.
May 10th, 2010
Oh no! I really hope it can be fixed. I did the same with my first digital camera, but it had a viewfinder too so I could still use it. Is yours like that?
Looking forward to more photos.
May 10th, 2010
Well, Rowan, I don't know. These cameras noawadays may cost more to fix than replace. I sure hope it works out for you.

On another note, I just took a look at a few of your images. You have quite a talent there! Really. You are very creative. So, I hope you get a camera back in your hands real soon!

Good luck.
May 11th, 2010
Uh...everyone is worried about the camera. You said you fell on it. Are you ok? Hope you didn't get hurt. :)

Rowan, You have some wonderful shots. It's sad to think of you going without for very long or having great expense to fix yours. I am curious as to what your camera is. Do you have a DSLR or a compact? What make and model. This is pretty large family out here on 356 and there is an outside chance that someone may have the same camera that is broken in another way. My thought from there is to find a way to make the 2 into one. I have done this for years with all kinds of electronics. No cameras yet, but there is always a first time.
May 11th, 2010
Ouch :( Hope it's a quick fix for you!
May 11th, 2010
Rowan, I hope your camera has a speedy recovery!

You all are so sweet! Rowan (my son) and I broke our cameras only days apart. When mine broke, I was hoping that Rowan would share his camera with me for a while, but then his died as well. I had no choice but to buy a new camera, which I will share with Rowan of course. We're hoping his can be fixed, but he is saving his allowance and lawn-mowing money just in case.

Thank you so much every body for your concern. I have some good news, I was visiting Burlington VT when I saw a camera repair shop. I went inside the shop and asked if my camera could be repaired... guess what
ITS REPAIRABLE! HOORAY! As you can believe that was awesome news for me. But one problem still remains. I am thinking it will probably cost a lot of money to fix. Anyway I'm still very happy about it.
May 12th, 2010
Rowan, that's BRILLIANT news! Take it in and ask them how much it'll cost. I'm so excited for you!
Oh yeah, next time, get one of those neoprene pouch things - I have my camera in one and it never gets damaged when I drop it.

Oh, I hope you'll both have cameras again real soon. It's a real shame to loose 2 cameras during your 365's. Good luck!!
