I've been seeing a lot of photos from my friends lately on Facebook where they've cloned one or more images into another image. Anyone have any favorites they want to share? Here's my first attempt at it, I used 6 different images.
@bschoos These are all so cool, but I especially like yours. It tells the story of what busy little bees kids are when they're playing. Want to learn how to do this.
I've been wanting to do more of this, but just haven't had the time, patience, model, etc. Here's my first attempt using my son. He actually has such different expressions, it looks like three different kids, but it's just him.
@bobfoto I think ou at least need a program that allows you to create layers, I use GIMP (that's kinda like PS but it's a free download) The one I made with my son and his tractor was done without GIMP and I've just digitally cut 3 pics up and pasted them together, without them overlapping each other (I did an other one of the same shots using GIMP: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/yBrzNqLj2aQO9G5IyhACucaA4Xqi8P_eDCFLbBiwx2o?feat=directlink You can really see the difference)... not really a "perfect" outcome but that's because you really need to use a tripod (or place your camera on something steady) and I didn't do that.. haha
So I guess yes, you can make "simple cloning" pics without a program like PS, but your clones won't be able to overlap each other...
Hope this "blurry" explanation was a bit helpful LOL
@elke - that's cool, I checked out both the link you posted and the tutorial that Bonnie posted and I have a better idea. I think I need to learn how to do the layering bit... my current photo editors do not do this process but I am thinking about getting Aperture...
maybe one day.
When I was a young lad, my film camera allowed to take multiple shots on a single frame, so this kinda stuff was done in camera... be nice if you could do it that way today.
@bobfoto Haha I guess that haven't invented that (yet) in this digital era ;-) Wiould be so much easier.. and you would be able to even call it SOOC...
I have this one from the 25th of June: (my profile pic is another one I did)
Because my son wanted to play himself in chess.
And just because I wanted to try and see if I could do more than two clones.
to not bad...
via "needed some more shadow recreation work from my arm on the chair back"...
over to "hrm"...
and back to awesome...
Three Stages of a Football Game
But after this thing got a bit better, editing wise ;-) (O and they're all selfies)
There are many different ways to do this I would imagine, as with any Photoshop technique.
