canon powershot help?

i have a cannon powershot, and i dont know how, or if i even can adjust the shutter speed. can anyone help? it says nothing about it in the manuel that i can see :? i'm so confuzzled

Does it have a dial on the top with the letters TV on it?

If it is the Elph, you can by going into Function and working with it there. Give it a try.

Yeah there are a LOT of Powershot models, each with different types of features. I would suggest checking your manual or finding a book that would explain what each model is capable of.

What you are looking for is called Tv mode on the Powershots. That is Shutter Priority Mode. Av mode is Aperture priority mode. I have a Powershot with these features, but I know not all of them have that. My settings like this are found on the dial on the top of the camera.

no it has a dail but its just for zooming.

there should be another dial on it that says A, P, TV, AV, M, C1, C2 etc @kittenkatten246

my powershot ELPH 100 does not have the ability to change the shutter speed... gonna move to a DSLR!

The Powershot Elph (Ixus) and A series does not have that feature. The Powershot G, S and SX series does.
