Posting more than 1 photo?

January 15th, 2010
I cannot figure out if I can post more than 1 photo per day. Any ideas?

You can make a photo collage! I just did that a couple days ago. I use Picasa for my photo editing and they have the option to make a collage in that program as well.

My problem too- I take too many photos some days!! I also downloaded Picasa (free from Google) and I agree with Angie, you can make fabulous collages with it.

Technically you can't post more than one photo per day, since this project is for posting one per day for an entire year. If you want, you could join Flickr or something like that, which allows you to upload as much as you want each day.

Personally, I'm enjoying the challenge of finding my best/favorite photo that I've taken each and every day - it's helping me define my skills and style as a photographer.

I with agree Jennifer. For me, personally, it's more of a challenge to pick just one.

However, a lot of people are doing this project more for fun and personal documentation than to hone photography skills, so I'm glad collages are allowed. One of the best things about this site is that there isn't a lot of rigidity. The rules are simple and the creative freedom is paramount. :o)

Jennifer M. is exactly right, the whole point of this particular 365 project is just one a day for a year. I love days that I have multiple favorites to choose from, its alot better than the days that I have to choose one of the two bad pictures that were a result of that day!

A couple of things that I do to narrow a selection when I have many in one day, is try to pick the one picture that sums up the highlight of what I did that day. The one that puts my day in the best context, and sometimes it's not even the best "artistic" photo of the day. Another thing is to make a collage like Angie and Veronica said. Also I have seen some people put a link to an alternative photo they liked that they have uploaded to another website (Flickr, Photobucket, etc.) in their description of the picture.

All in all, it gives you a great chance to look at each photo critically and figure out what makes one "better" than another, and great growth is bound to happen from the amature to the professional. Just have fun with it :)

Picasa is great for collages and being free helps too! I agree with Amanda! I think the site is positive and open enough that you really make your own challenge and your own purpose. For some it is posting only one image per day, others just want to tell a story of their year in photos, some want to increase their skills or get that perfect shot, and many are a combo of those. I am one that wants to record my year and express myself. Most days I try to chose one, other days so much happens and it can't be expressed in one image, so I put it in a collage through Picasa. It is your account and your 365 days so do what you want and have a great time! =)

I had the same problem...and I got the same advice...add picasa...it is great...and FREE...whoohoooo. I added a little collage of 2 pics today. I think they tell a story. I love this website!!!!

I understand its about a photo a day, some days I just cannot chose one image. If I have more than one image they usually they don't pertain to the same thing. I am doing project 365 to document our daily life, and to challenge myself creatively, and to take more images of my family instead of just clients:)
I use photoshop to create collages, I just couldn't figure out if technically I could post more than one image a day.
Thanks for all your thoughts.

Technically, no. Unless post more than 1 per day for different days (catching up).But I do agree with everyone else. The idea is to stick with 1 that defines the day from a memorable one as a whole. It's not about taking pictures. It is about artistically defining one day in an image. That's where the creativity is.

express yourself. if it's one picture or ten shouldn't matter to anyone but YOU.

I'd suggest this site for that one photo you really like for the day, and Flickr for the rest. ;)

When I mistakenly tried to upload a 2nd photo before I changed the date, I got a message that I could only upload 1 picture a day. Lately I've noticed people I follow often have several pictures with the same date. How can that be?

I thought the whole point of 365 was to choose 1 photo per day. I go to look at the latest pictures and there are 30 by one person. I find it really annoying :S

I find it challenging to pick one per day and that has worked great to enhance my creativity, or so I think. Now I have been posting twice a week, now I want to post also once per day, let's go.

365 only lets you post one photo for each date. You can change the date to a previous date (a month ago, a year ago etc.) and post your extra photo on that date. I use this system for challenges. You can then post the link to your current photo so they can view the other photo as well.
